EDIT: I own a Wii as well, and it will allow you to get online (for gaming and you can access the internet with Opera). It's actually not a bad system for casual gamers, but again if you decide to get serious the graphics, games and online community just won't cut it for you.
Speaking of cars, I’m looking forward to playing Chinese Democracy 5, uh I mean Gran Turismo 5 . . . hopefully it comes out before 2014.
This.
I have all three as well and couldn't agree more.
And whoever said the PS3 controller was better has never played a FPS on the PS3 because it's sucks big time.
And check this thread for more discussion about the systems:

But definitely stay away from the Wii if you want the "cool games" and "cool graphics"
It's got Bluray. Rent/buy bluray's, watch them in 1080p on your TV. More storage, more power. That's the way I like it. Enough said. An all in one kick ass system. Play's your old PS2/PS1 games. And if you have a PSP, you can hookup via blue tooth, use it as a controller & play online, transfer files etc..
One of my favorite uses of the PS3: The PS3 Media Server
Download PS3 Media Server for free here:
http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/downloads/list
You can watch any kind of video clip you downloaded on your PC (.mkv, vob's, .ts, high def clip's, etc..) anykind of audio file and any kind of photo formats that are all on your PC's Hard Drive directly on your PS3. All you need a a wireless connection or wired connection. I prefer wired connection. It's your choice!
As for games, the Ratchet & Clank series kicks ass. Final Fantasy, Grand Trusimo, Metal Gear Solid series are only for the PS3. You will find hundreds of games that's on the wii & xbox on the PS3. Check out the list here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Pl ... on_3_games
Far more games for the xbox and better ones too. MUCH better and larger online community and features such as facebook, twitter, last FM, Download / stream movies all from the 360.
Everyone i know who has a PS3 and / or Wii use their 360 a lot more.
Final Fantasy is out for the xbox too. Metal Gear Solid 4 is the only game i want a PS3 for. I need to see how that series end!!!!!!!
This is not true of any PS3 you buy off the shelf now as they scrapped PS2 backwards compatibility a few years ago. But PS1 games are a go.
The funny thing is that I got one that will play them thinking how nice that would be and have yet to even put a PS2 disc in the system.
Sorry, the Wii is a joke compared to the other two.
Check out this video (half page down) from CNet. It compares the two.

To me...
PS3 > 360 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Wii
the wii will end up collecting dust most of the time unless another big first party Nintendo release like Mario comes out.
I totally think its what you've been playing with for longer. I for one am really weirded out by the PS3 controller, and far prefer the 360, but that's just me.
I would go with the 360. You have to pay for online play, but it IS the best online system of any of the consoles (interface, stuff available, amount of people actually using it) and although the graphics are not QUITE as good as the PS3 (Not all that noticeable really, both are amazing), the games are, in my opinion at least, a bit better. There are merits of both for sure, but the 360 has been better for me (I play a lot of shooters, and I like the Splinter Cell games and the Assassin's Creed series [Holy shit! Awesome!]). The PS3 has LittleBigPlanet, though, and Uncharted!
I guess you should just play 'em both at a mall or friends house!
Best. Night. Ever.
Online play is fine. And it's free, unlike xbox. Plus it's faster uploading of game (apart from when you need a system update) blu-ray which also upgrades the quality of normal DVD.
I was never a big gamer, I used to save my money and when I saved over $1k I would go and buy something. I was walking through the shops one day and I just decided to buy a PS#, I have loved it ever since, and If it broke today, I would be up at the shops tomorrow and buying a new one.
Good luck, but you prob couldn't go wrong with a PS3 or xbox. Don't get a wii.

I bought my PS3 the day it came out. 60 gig one. Play's all my ps & ps2 games. It's sweet. Sucks they took that option off for the newer models.
I got so many sports & fighting games for the ps & ps2 that I would still play on my PS3.
I have an original 60GB too. Great system.
I like the idea of backwards compatibility however I never use it.
The only time I used it was to see if it would do what the box said it would! It did, but then that was the end of PS2 games for me.
