I didn't read it all, I was getting a bit irratated. I think the person who studied it has too much time on their hands.

People need to get a life, what a waste of time on this.
I didn't read the whole article, I hope no money was spent on this garbage.

Professor Wilton presented her findings at a conference and says there should be tighter controls of what is broadcast to children.

 I'm not saying kids should watch programs with sex and violence. but really, if Thomas the Tank Engine is harmful, what kind of lame crap is ok?

Laura Midgley, co-founder of the Campaign Against Political Correctness in the UK, described the research as "unbelievable nonsense". "I cannot believe anyone has the time and energy to do such a study," Ms Midgley said. "I'm surprised she hasn't singled out the Fat Controller as an example of fattism too."

  • Utter bullshit. I fucking hate people like this.

What utter utter twaddle! Everything about this article is everything that is wrong with the world today. In case the eminent Professor failed to realise it, trains don't actually talk in reality and are devoid of any gender, race or religion.

Are we seriously expected to believe that some young reprobate will, at some point in the future, behave in an anti-social manner because Percy wasn't as fast as Thomas? Get a grip woman!!!
It's gonna be a glorious day...
  • What is wrong with the world?!

    I've never read such twaddle.

IT'S THOMAS THE FECKIN' TANK ENGINE YOU SILLY BINT!!!
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

This is hardly surprising. As an outspoken advocate for feminine equality I've been saying this for years!

I watched this when I was young and I turned out just fine. Jesus, women are stupid...

I only recently started watching this show with my 2 year old and was pleasantly surprised to hear George Carlin as the narrator. I'm sure if he were still alive he would put this bitch in her place.

I really refuse to let my toddlers watch a program that demeans women and promotes being helpful. I sincerly feel that Thomas is actually just pushing Obama's Socalist agenda.

My children instead are treated to movies about america at its greatest... Such as Inglorius Basterds. It warms my heart when my four year old is about to close his eyes at night and whispers "mommy, in my dreams im gonna kill some nazis"

    What a good boy.

Thomas the Tank is actually gay.... Henry told me that... he said he goes like a fucking steam train.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
  • Tiger the Pussy Train would be demeaning to women.

This study is almost as ridiculous as Kevin Costner's believability as an actor.

  • Less than a decade ago, one of the American televangelists began a rumour that Tinky Winky, the purple Teletubby, was gay! I loved that show, but none of the content had anything to do with sex.

Certainly parents can judge the shows for themselves. Last time I looked, most childrens' programming still had white males as the main characters. That does not make any specific show sexist.
