    That is such an awesome video. I'd never heard the "Eddie with Batwings" story before, so this that was a pleasant surprise.

    I wonder what other rare, classic moments are waiting to emerge in this digital age. One thing I've always wanted to see — but don't know whether it exists — is the "experiment" they did in Portland in 1998. They raised a screen and played a different version of the "Do the Evolution" video behind them while they rocked the son. This was before the real Do The Evolution video came out.

    Probably not as good as Eddie flying in with batwings.

    (And to the original poster, I think the reason this thread hasn't got more attention is because we're experiencing a Pearl Jam hangover, what with all the excitement of a new album and tour coming to pass).

    Ya Ed always kept the batwings on his amp for years. The story was he was givin the wings by a member of The Frogs and flew onto the stage with a rope wearing them. This is the first time video of the event surfaced on the internet.

    Jim O'Rourke actually played cello for The Frogs a few times. That might be where the confusion comes from.
