I love it how people around here tell people that because they reside in a different country that they should not post here or that they are hypocrates. god forbid any of us ever get exposed to different perspectives. why not try to learn something from someone who has experienced the health care system of other countries???
Not at all.....I just have a problem when people who aren't from the US paint it as such a horrible place when they live in a truly oppressive government.
so you think we have an amazing health care system? seems to me we can't take care of our own people and other countries can, so we must not be as great as we all seem to think we are.

I never said America was a horrible place. We were discussing the health care system in America - or lack of - which currently is a fucking disgrace. I also have a lot of negative things to say about American politicians and U.S foreign policy, but that doesn't mean I think America is a horrible place or that the American people are horrible. That would involve way too much generalization for me to manage.

Have you seen the movie 'Sicko'?
Nope, and I don't watch Fox news for the same reason.

Its not perfect, and I never said it was. I've lived in Europe and Asia for many years, and as wonderful and eye opening as it was, I still like it here in the US, and the same reason thousands of immigrants that poor into this country every year. How many Chinese immigrants come here every year vs US immigrants to China?
What has remained puzzling is how exactly this rationing will be determined for the rest of us. Similarly elusive is how the new Health Benefits Advisory Committee will decide whether or not you get certain medical treatments, regardless of the opinion of your doctor. After all, how do you put a dollar value on a human life?
I only read up to this point. I should know better than engage in this discussion, but I genuinely can't fathom how anyone who has a concern about doctors not being the only ones to decide about care, and about not putting a dollar value on a human life would prefer the current system.
I am wide a wake and lived most of my life in a country with a "public option." I have never been denied care. On the other hand, my husband and I really have to fight the American health insurance companies to have his cardiology visit covered. I will never get it, I am afraid.
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

A satitrical look at hospital care, corrupt insurance companies and greedy, cynical doctors who work not to save lives but to line their pockets.
Love the tagline: At Memorial Hospital no one ever dies... Until their insurance runs out.

the general right act as if they think their senator will be pouring over each and every medical procedure, and giving them the green stamp or the red. the government is NOT going to be making the decisions people! doctors do! the only thing they make the decision on is how much funding goes where. while that system is not perfect, it's better than an insurance company telling you there's NO money to cover you.
