Happy 70th Birthday John Lennon! What you did in the years you made music can never be matched. Your message is still strong and I hope one day the whole world will listen to your music.

Plastic Ono Band has to be the most overlooked and under-appreciated album of all time.

    Beautiful, raw emotion.

One of the greatest. People do associate his solo stuff more with "Imagine" and "Double Fantasy", but I love "Plastic Ono Band". "God" is genius.

Awesome. The SFF sounds similar to the Anthology version but it's not the same one. I think Imagine is from the John Lennon Anthology box set, but I'd have to listen to them back to back. Can't wait to listen to this later.

Me too. I'd love to see the band cover "Yer Blues" and Eddie cover "Across the Universe".

    It ain't fair, John Sinclair
In the stir for breathing air
Wont you care for John Sinclair?
In the stir for breathing air
Let him be, set him free
Let him be like you and me

They gave him ten for two
What else can the judges do?
    Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta,
    Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta,
    Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta,
Gotta, gotta, gotta set him free

If he'd been a soldier man
    Shooting gooks in Vietnam
    If he was the CIA
    Selling dope and making hay
He'd be free, they'd let him be
Breathing air, like you and me

They gave him ten for two
What else can the judges do?
    Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta,
    Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta,
    Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta,
Gotta, gotta, gotta set him free

They gave him ten for two
    They got Ali Otis too.
    Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta,
    Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta,
    Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta,
Gotta, gotta, gotta set him free

Was he jailed for what he done?
    Or representing everyone
Free John now, if we can
From the clutches of the man
Let him be, lift the lid
Bring him to his wife and kids

They gave him ten for two
What else can the bastards do?
    Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta,
    Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta,
    Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta,
Gotta, gotta, gotta set him free

R.I.P. John. You changed the world for the better.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

He died 2 months and 4 days after I was born. Been listening to his albums over the weekend on Spotify.

As Tom Petty wrote on the liner notes for Hard Promises, "We miss you, JL."

    Beautiful, raw emotion.

    It is fantastic.
I can't find a good one for a decent price anywhere (although haven't looked for a few months now).

One I find underrated is How? from Imagine. Such a beautiful ballad from John.

Aisiumsen (I'm Sorry) is another under appreciated gem.
