Love it when Ed sings:

"there ain't gonna be
no middle anymore
it's been said before.."

Oh my god. I feel ashamed. :(

I've been an obsessive fan for 4 years now, loved 1/2 full and NEVER realised about the lyrics. And that's why he made that look when singing that line in L@TG. Fucking hell!

Damn. That's a wicked reference. Love the song even more. Love the band even more. :)

While I like that line, I think "Don't see some men as half empty/see them half-fill of shit" is the best line in the song.

    Esther's here and she's sick?

hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks
  • Speaking of referencing other songs...

You've also got the repetition of "the haves". They've "been having more yet still bored" in 1/2 Full, probably because they "have not a clue" in Bu$hleaguer.

What about the fact that "it's been said before" has also been (sorta) said before on the same album, as in "it's already been sung, but it can't be said enough" before going on to say what the Beatles said before. Oh, the levels...

And of course Love Boat Captain has "earthquakes making waves" like Tremor Christ has, in a more long-winded way.

Are the links staring to get tenuous? Both Alive & Jeremy reference Daddy... Hmmmm....

If you want to talk about referencing, I always considered "Save You" to have at least one.

"...don't go on me now." It may not be referencing "Go", but it seems along the same lines to me.
I shit and I stink. I'm real, join the club.

A friend, he called, I didn't mention a thing. The last thing he said was, "Be sound". Sound. I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit. I just thought those would be such appropriate last words. But I'm still here.
