Hi,

since neither the movie nor the album are very popular over here, I was surprised...

The story (maybe some of you know heard about this):

In december 2005 two polar bear babies were born in the Berlin Zoo, but the mother abandonend them shortly after birth. The zoo-keepers tried to raise them by hand. One of them died a few days later but the other one, named 'Knut', survived and became really popular in Germany and known in all parts of the world. One of the keepers even moved into the zoo and devoted himself completely to 'Knut', his name was Thomas Dörflein. Since almost every step of 'Knut' and his foster-dad was accompanied by a camera, he also became quite popular (which he -as a really modest person- didn't like very much). Over the months it became clear that this guy is simply a good human being, alway patient and devoted to his family and his animals.
Last monday Thomas D. died of a heartattack and yesterday the rbb (regional television) showed a short transmission of him and his bears, especially 'Knut'. The last few minutes was a collage of some of the nicest scenes including Thomas and 'Knut' and they used Eddie's "Rise" as a Soundtrack, which fitted the scene really well.

It can be seen here:

There's a video link in the section 'Thomas Dörflein - Der Bärenvater', I don't know if it works outside of Germany, but the part with Eddie's Song begins a few seconds before the 12-minute-mark.

If anyone is interested in 'Knut', you can check this out:

It's in english, too

I think the song will be linked in my mind with these pictures in the future...
