Aus and NZ Tour Posters....

Now the dust has settled and im back to life after an amazing road trip on this tour Ive just gotten all my show posters framed....obviously they are all down to personal taste but there seems to be 2 vast extremes on this tour. Well for me anyway!! The Christchurch poster is the finest music poster ive ever seen, I also love the sydney zombie on surf and the melbourne skater....i just dont get the brisbane alien type thing and sadly (as its my my hometown) the auckland one simply sucks...funny,i have them all framed and am now hanging them, i just wonder who decided on the AKL and Bris ones...sydney and brisbane are the same artist...2 wildly different posters...Now before i get a backlash here, i love the fact that we get a poster from every show...But my point is, look at the chch one...it has relevance to the show and its just stunning...Auckland, im not sure what incentive there was to buy one if you werent a die hard fan. Anyway, just wondering if the band vet these posters. Who decides etc? and why a certain poster is assigned to a certain city....

btw watched you on the interwebs last night. shitty timing with their feed dying half way through your set. someone texted "get bryan bell to play i wanna know"... in texted "get joe walsh to play corduroy" but now i'll NEVER KNOW
they are representing the band after all
i got the shows i went to - chri and sydney will most definitely be walled. auckland ..... will think on it. and brissie is just plain ugly. i really only got that one as a trader.
wall space is becoming a premium tho. i have the seattle waiting in a frame against the kitchen bench. and an ed that needs re hanging because of a stupid patch of wall. i think some switcherooing will be happening.
Bryan did do I Wanna Know!!! Shit the feed failed...
i saw bryan's song.. but NO CORDUROY? jooooe, whyyyy?

I'm going to get them framed. I also keep the front page of the newspaper the day after christchurch. Had a big photo of Ed and a write up about how good the gig was. Going to frame that too I think. They'll go well with my Newcastle poster

The Brisbane poster was already pretty much done other than "Pearl Jam with Ben Harper & Relentless 7 Plus Liam Finn" and the date and location printed below. Check the third picture listed under Illustration on this page: http://www.benbrown.com.au/2007/BENBROWN.html Look familiar? Basically the art was already created in this case. The poster version has some differences because of the limits of how many colors they decided to use creating it. The refridgerator is pink in the poster but as you can see looking at the image on his webpage, it started out being light blue. The album art I created for this bootleg, I created blending the clean image from his webpage with pictures of the actual show poster. That's why my version has the refridgerator as being a different color than pink and the teddy bear is light brown instead of pink.
