so i've never been a springsteen fan. but after the rock&roll hof show my feelings have just been solidified. I hate this guy. can anyone possibly contort their facial expressions and groan as much as this guy? all i can hope is that he was better in his younger years. I've never looked forward to the mtv music awards but i'm looking forward to andy samburg. granted i'm watching re-runs of both (and im a bit tipsy) but damn! sorry, i'm not usually the one to bash, but i was just wondering who's with me???? hope this post doesnt offend anyone.

You're not the only one. I'm definitely not a Springsteen fan.

see Springsteen live. I swear. I never "got it" the obsession with his music, but his live show is amazing and totally gave me a newfound respect on Bruce. I mean I liked a handful of songs, but just never got the obsession with this band. I'm a bigger fan now, and listen to him alot more than would have ever imagined.

    my first Bruce show:

Atlantic city (full band) to me, it is better than the original:

and this on the WOAD tour (My 2nd time to see him.

I have both originals of these acoustic, but Holy Sh*t was this amazing. Just trying to give a live taste of his show outside VH1 or MTV. Music seems second best to non -existent to those stations now. :(

I have the same feeling about U2, maybe a live show is in store someday. Like a handful of songs but don't get the whole obsession for his band.

i feel you. there are a lot of fans of his here, but im not down with it. sure he's full of energy and his shows are loooooooooooooong but it does nothing for me. maybe he was great 30 years ago, but seeing him on VH1 at some festival show recently it was torture. and his singing ability is lacking very much, unlike Ed.

I saw him live, at Giants Stadium no less, and it didn't really move me. "Jungle Land" was incredible, but it's incredible anyway.
I certainly don't hate Bruce. In fact, I think he can be brilliant, but generally, he doesn't interest me.
What's hard is that I have to hide it, as one of my best friends is a Springsteen nutter. :)

I'm completely with you. I don't hate him but don't like his music in the slightest. I really really want to and I've tried but can't. I find it extremely boring too.

I have seen him live as well and while I recognize his talent and I can only hope to have his energy at that age, I still found it to be incredibly corny. I wonder if people like his concerts so much cause there's 189 people on stage playing an instrument and/or singing.

I am glad a lot of people enjoy the music though. I will, however, always have a lot of respect for "The Boss".

I never understood the hype until I saw him at that very show (MSG Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show). I found that he gave every bit of energy he had, sounded great, the E Street Band is one hell of a band backing him, and, naturally, the special guests made everything more special.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I can understand if you don't like the music (Radiohead doesn't do anything for me despite critical acclaim and millions of fans) but to mainly dislike a performer because of appearance seems rather superficial. What bands (besides Pearl Jam) do you like?

I respectfully disagree.... I've seen him twice now and his shows are great, almost like a revival of sort. But to each their own, enjoy what you do like!

I'm the same way...not that he isn't talented, but his style doesn't appeal to me.

In fact, I think Manfred Mann's version of "Blinded By The Light" is better by a landslide.
