Damn I love this album, I've been listening to a concert of this tour and wow. What does everyone else think of this band/album. Also does anyone have any recomendations on other stuff by them I should look into, I know they don't have alot but I've just never looked into it.

  • Definitely among my favorite albums of all and that is saying a lot. It's a classic for sure.
Recovering the satellites was great as well as someone else said, but I kind of lost track of them after that for a while....i have their greatest hits cd and there are some really good songs on it that I didn't know before so I suppose their efforts since then are likely to be pretty strong as well.
Always wanted to see them in concert but have never had the chance
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

I love the Crows and 'August' is a phenomenal album! Like everyone said, Recovering the Satellites is also a great listen. I happen to also enjoy the newest one, Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings.

Also great live! One of the few concerts I've seen was Counting Crows last year- had a lot of fun, and Adam sounded great!

'August' is a perfect album, there's not a single bad song on it. I've been a Crows fan since it came out and I never get tired of it. I met Adam Duritz after a show on the August tour and he signed the booklet for me. He's such a genuinely nice guy and spent about an hour chatting to the fans

It's definitely worth checking out 'Hard Candy' too, Good Time is one of the best songs they've ever done

  • Geez, I haven't listened to that album in a long time. Played it so much I got sick of it, but I think it might be time to dust it off... Damn good stuff.

Recovering the Satellites is pretty good, but I actually like This Desert Life better. After that I think it all got pretty generic. I haven't bothered to check out their last album, though. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

I think all Crows albums have their strengths, and I look forward to each release just as I did Recovering the Satellites. But man, August & Everything After is something else. One of my Top 10 Ever.

Nicely heard this sequence on the radio the other day: The One I Love, REM - Fixer - Round Here.
  • I wouldn't even consider myself a big Counting Crows fan, but August & Everything After is in my top 10 of all time.

It's a brilliant album and their absolutely best record, the others are not bad either but not the same quality...
