So Huckabee has no accountability...

For this guy killing the cops in Washington state after he pardoned him as a young man because he had "become a Christian", but Obama is accountable for what his preacher says (among so many other things). :? Gotta love the mentality of the neo-cons. I realize Bush got hammered for everything too, but I think being a giant walking clusterfuck didn't help his cause at all.

I've only seen a few excerpts, but it seems like Huckabee has gotten blasted pretty well by the right blogisphere on this one.

And, he isn't in office or running for anything right now, so he's not really a target. If he decides to run for 2012, I'm sure this will come up again (and again and again).

...And Sarah Palin is a quitter, and I'm glad that will hurt her chances. Now if Mitt Romney can find a way to self-destruct, just maybe the Republicans can consider nominating someone decent.

As always, I'm holding out hope for Ron Paul and the growing Libertarian influence of the party.

i heard that huckabee today announced he will not seek the white house in 2012. does anyone else think that this case might have something to do with it? he would be hammered relentlessly from both sides over this mistake that ended up in 4 dead cops.

but then again, he would have to leave fox if he got elected and he might not want to take the pay cut...

Honestly though, unless you have some sort of huge ego, why would anyone want to be President? I've never understood that desire. Huckabee has a TV show, can do the speech circuit for money, and pretty much live the rest of his life however he wants... why would anyone give that up.

Gotta love the boundless hypocrisy of the moving train board. Mike Huckabee commuted the sentence of Maurice Clemmons, who was given a century long life sentence for a robbery he committed as a juvenile. At the time, Maurice Clemmons had not committed any other crime, and had been in prison for over a decade. Clemmons had the recommendation of the parole board, and the judge in the trial. That he was arrested but not convicted of later crimes (the child rape) can't be blamed on Mike Huckabee.

Do you think that a life sentence is a fitting punishment for a 16 year old thief? Or that Mike Huckabee isn't taking enough heat? Your post makes absolutely no sense. Why don't you inform yourself before coming here and posting? It astounds me that people find ways to waste the nearly boundless storage capacity of the internet.

Furthermore, nobody (to my knowledge) ever suggested that Obama should be accountable for what Jeremiah Wright preached in the churches Obama attended. But seeking guidance from an unrepentant racist and anti-semite like Jeremiah Wright would reflect poorly on anyone.

Do you have a link to that story?
What makes me mad are the judges letting out pedophiles (proven to be no cure for them) and they go on within the same year to rape or kill another child!

Clemmons also had a psych eval that said he remained a danger. And he hadn't commited just one crime. "Clemmons, 37, had an "extensive violent criminal history from Arkansas, including aggravated robbery and theft," the sheriff's department said in a statement. A convicted criminal with a long rap sheet, Clemmons was given a 95-year prison sentence in Arkansas. The host of charges against him robberies, burglaries, thefts and bringing a gun to school." I don't care how old someone is when they commit a crime--if they continue to give evidence that they are potential violent offenders they should remain in jail...even if they commit the crime when they are 16 years of age. I personally know someone who at the tender age of 10 was selling drugs and hanging his neighbors' dogs from trees. I don't know when he was committed to a juvenile lock up facility, but I do know that he was set to finish up school there. At the age of eighteen, he shanked a guard and was sent to an adult prison facility. I don't know what has happened to him since. I do know that I wouldn't want this guy out on the streets. My feeling is that when released, he will soon be sent to the penitentiary because he will have murdered someone. Please don't accuse people on this board of blatant hypocrisy when you ooze of it...it's not a pretty sight when someone on the right suddenly gets softer on crime than the most liberal among us would. It gets uglier when they start making up stuff like the poor guy only did one bad thing at the age of 16. Ninety-five years was a fitting sentence for this guy, and Mike Huckabee showed not a trace of common sense in commuting his sentence. What he showed was that all Clemmons had to do was push the right buttons on Huckabee's religious tree, and the door to the big house swung wide open for him. Only a fool would have commuted Clemmons sentence. And a fool did.

Did Obama commute Jeremiah Wright's sentence for a rap sheet involving multiple violent offenses? I don't see the parallel between distancing oneself from the idiotic rantings of one person and another person trying to pretend they didn't, in essence, aid and abet a violent offender. Please inform yourself before coming here.

Maurice Clemmons, who was fatally shot Tuesday after becoming the focus of a massive manhunt following the tragic shootings, had a 1. lengthy rap sheet even before he moved to the Seattle area in 2004. In Arkansas he had been convicted of aggravated robbery, theft, burglary, and firearms possession. His 108-year prison sentence was commuted by then-Gov. Mike Huckabee in 2000.
According to the Arkansas Times, Clemmons returned to a life of crime after being released by Mr. Huckabee. "Clemmons then returned to prison for a July 13, 2001, conviction for robbery in Ouachita County, for which he received a 10-year sentence. He was paroled March 18, 2004," the newspaper reported.

That parole was transferred to Washington, where Clemmons grew up. Once there, according to King 5 News, he "worked all sorts of jobs: Landscaping. Removing seats from buses. Recycling metals. Real estate."
He also was suspected of involvement in more armed robberies and even drug smuggling. In the past year, he was jailed at least three times and made bail after each incarceration. Most recently he posted bail while awaiting trial on child rape charges. He walked out of the Pierce County, Wash., facility six days before allegedly gunning down four unsuspecting police officers.

you got to wonder ....Why is it the Judges that let this guy out all the other times are not in the News and being held accountable?
Why in the hell is ANYONE getting out on bond, when involved in a child rape . . . That is the most horrendous crime of all!
