    hey S - crying is good every now and then ... you can't have happiness without sadness - selecting to only listen to one without the other is a deceptive existence ... consider yourself lucky ... not many can have their spirit lifted with just one beam of light ...

    It's all because of the shorting days.

    The only reason Christmas is, when it is, is because it is the first day the sun starts to get higher in the sky by one degree, symbolic of rebirth. The days start to get longer again.


    Get a sunlamp people. Or a shrink. :P

    I hear you. I feel a little down too, but its the shorter days, colder weather, and everyone freaking out about gifts and family. There's a lot of pressure.

    OK, thanks for making me laugh! And feeling some relief too.
    I've been moping for a couple of days without knowing why, kind of worrying about finances in general. I've been out of work for quite a while and I hate it. Most of the Christmas shopping is done but I'm just frustrated that I can't afford to do other little things I'd like to do.
    I also don't know what Christmas will be like this year, the first one without my MIL who was very special to me and my husband. :(

    But putting a reason behind the feelings helps. I think I'll skip the sunlamp and just take my dogs out to play. :wave:

    Thank you for the pictures. I'm very 'meh' about the holidays - I find them burdensome and I don't enjoy the season, but seeing those beautiful ocean pictures gave me some peace. And it made me want to go see the ocean.
