As the merging traffic passed he found himself staring down at his own hands.

Never have lyrics represented how I feel and how my friend feels.
We are just chatting online and both don't like the idea of 9-5 Mon-Fri existence.
He's joining the Air Force, I'm dreaming of being in a band.
Dreaming, if that fails where to?
People getting fired at my work and they are downsizing, I have no idea what the hell I want to do.

    Not easy to find an occupation that you can be happy in and be secure at the same. I trained to be a chef and after 7 really long years I went back to the job I'm in now which pays well and allows me fresh air all day, exercise and I get to wear my headphones all day too. Better looking hard for something while still in employment just in case and you can always have a band if that's your desire. You're going to get fed up doing anything once in a while. Still don't like Sleight Of Hand though :lol:

    Sadly, I've only recently 'discovered' this song and its meaning to me. I agree with you 100%. If you're dreaming of being in a band, reach out and grab it. Don't let the 9-5 mentality stand in your way. But due to the state of the economy, I'd suggest juggling the 9-5 with your band dreams for now. :D

    Hmmm....probably in about 3-4 years time this song will hit me like a wave once again.

    I'm back in school, trying to get myself a 'regular' 9-5 job. Don't really think it's something that I'll love, but living at home with the 'rents will do that to a man!
