Just saw on ESPN that a group is planning on seeking financing for a new facility for basketball and potentially hockey in Seattle. This means that in all likelihood, the sonics are staying put. Yea! :)
I hold the pain, release me!

It is far from a done deal. Clay "Ass-hat" Bennett still claims that the team is not for sale.

A couple things could happen for us....

    A) The NBA could deny his move to OK - and then he would have no choice but to sell back to local owners.

    B) He could take this club away and we could get the Hornets from New Orleans.

    C) Howard Schultz and Clay Bennett could ALWAYS go fuck themselves!!!

I love that it's Downtown Freddie Brown trying to come to our rescue: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3324289
  • Fuck the NBA. After all that I have invested into this team financially and emotionally, if the Sonics end up leaving I am DONE with the whole lot of the Crybabies and Wife beaters in the NBA.

Looks like it would be just making a new stadium, not buying the team.

good! that is where they belong. give durant a chance to build a real team there, he'll make them some money in due time.

I heard that the NBA is negotiating with Bennett to leave the team name, colors, and history behind if he does end up leaving. That way, an expansion team could be placed in Seattle with all the Sonics stuff already in place.

Much like the Cleveland Browns did.
