Sharing a font Folder? (for the geeks)

Hey,

So I have a question. At work we have a mac and two pc's at the moment they each their own font folder.
We have a shared artwork folder on an external hard drive that everyone uses. Is there a way that we can have a shared font folder as well, so that all the machines will check that folder when it comes to using or needing fonts?

Maybe an application that does this? Or just changing the default font folder?

Many thanks

Andy

    hey man,

Just wanted to say i have run into the same thing at my work place! But unfortunately i have not found a solution to this problem, merely frustration. however if the art contains fonts and you do not have the specific one, merely save it as an outline and that should allow you to open it no problem.

If anyone else out there in PJ land knows of a program that allows you to share fonts through a network im sure we would both love to find out what it is! thanks guys!

  • Yeah, it's a bit of a pain, we use mainly indesign and with that we can package the files we need but it would be great just to have a shared font usage folder. We're always coming across new fonts and using them. And it's great to share! :)
