Tiger admits affair

He admitted what many of us suspected, that he cheated on his wife. As a fan of Tiger's I am very disappointed. He always seemed very much the regular average joe type guy, even despite being the greatest golfer in history, and probably the most dominant athlete post Jordan.
Two things I dont get:
1. His statement today, suggested the two arent related: the affair, and the car accident. How could they not be? Pre Car accident, no one was coming out of the wood work to call him a womanizer. Now post accident alot of women are. So that was just a coincidence, Tiger?
2. I never understood the whole lying once your caught thing? Its the same with John Edwards. The guy, to my knowledge still refuses to admit he fathered that ladies kid, even though its pretty damn obvious he is the biological father. When this whole accident happened, it was obvious it was more involved than just a minor car accident. We all knew that. Yet Tiger refused to say anything to anyone for days, and when he did speak the other day, he never mentioned anything about an affair. In fact, he flat out denied an affair in his first post accident statement. I dont get these people like Edwards or Letterman or Tiger. Why not admit it, and be done with it? People, the public in general, seems pretty forgiving, if you admit your mistake, apologize and make active steps to never have it happen again.

whats up with Tiger and his wife refusing to admit that the golf club wasnt used to get tiger out of the car, it was used in anger by his wife.
This was a minor car accident. How did Tiger get out of the car anyways? If he was hurt badly enough, breaking out a window aint gonna do squat, for one because he wouldnt be able to move, and two, climbing out a window that still has shards of glass around it makes no sense. Especially given the minor nature of the accident.
Lets call it what it really is. Lets stop playing these silly games.
Tigers wife supposedly ran out of the house, after seeing Tiger hit the tree, and broke out the windows to help get him out? Really? Give me a break!

why are you surprised? a month ago, people were saying the same of david letterman. before that, john edwrads. our divorce rate is over 50%. you think infidelity is any lower than that? if anything, it's a whole lot higher. why are people surprised at this anymore? who is NOT cheating is far more of a surprise.

What i am saying is why lie, once you are caught? I get the lying while its going on, but once its common knowledge, why continue to lie about it? Why put up this facade of "everything is ok" when everything clearly isnt.
Why didnt Tiger just admit it, that first night, and say "yeah I had an affair, and my wife beat me up". It would have been embarassing for him to admit, but why do this stupid dance for 4 days of "oh, it was an accident, all these rumors are false".
Tiger still hasnt really admitted a damn thing. He said, "i have made transgressions", but then goes on to say "all these rumors are false". Werent the rumors suggesting he had an affair?
Just admit it and be done. Its so stupid

I agree. But he is a spokesman and puts himself in the public light receiving these endorsements for his would be wholesomeness. I could care less and am not surprised at all. At least his chicks were smoking hot which cannot be said for Letterman. Maybe he will plea sex addiction which is such bullshit. A man is as faithful as his options - Chris Rock.

Exactly. Can we blame the guy for having carnal temptations? Unfortunately because of his status in the world, people are going to speculate all kinds of bullshit just because he poked some cocktail waitress.

Secondly, I dont expect anyone to be perfect. I do think its pretty dumb for anyone to continue to suggest something that is false, even when everyone else knows its false.
When you have an affair or make a mistake, you admit it. you apologize and you move on.
With people like Edwards, Letterman, or Tiger it seems denial, then belated admitting and apologizes is the name of the game. That is what I dont get.
Someone wants to have an affair, thats their own buisness. But when you continue, as I said before, this charade of "these are vicious lies people are spreading about me and my family" when everyone knows these rumors are 100 percent correct. Its ludicrous.
Edwards is the ultimate example. When the affair became public, why didnt he admit it, and admit his fathering that child? The guy onviously didnt give a damn about his wife, even if she had cancer.
Affairs happen. I am not Pollyanna. But i do think that once you are caught, to continue this dance as I said and act like this affair never happened. Its dumb.
1. He publicly suggested via the first statement that he didnt cheat and that vicious lies were being spread about his family.
2. High standards? If you cheat and are found out, you cop to it, apologize and move on. Thats the BARE MINIMUM my friend!

as to tiger, who cares? guy's a multimillionare and started banging a girl on the tour? color me shocked. his wife should be happy he's as squeaky clean as he is. if i were in his shoes with his fame and money, i'd spend every day on tour with one girl on my lap and one on each hand, and they'd alll be different girls every night.
Try this one...yeah she used the club to break out some windows in anger, but that's not the only thing she used it on. She teed off on his head giving him lacerations on his face and a bloody mouth.
