sad past few days

When I was away for Thanksgiving, I avoided my mother in law's ill, elderly cat. I saw the cat sunning herself, barely able to hold her head up a few days ago. It broke my heart and brought back memories of my elderly cat. She needed to be put to sleep but my mother in law was caring for her uncle in law, plus she had a house full due to the holiday. They live out in the sticks and the vet was closed. Sunday a.m. my mother in law found her deceased and it was awful to have to bury her in the back yard. Her husband, my father in law, was away. The next afternoon, her uncle in law called and said his legs felt funny and could she come over. She found him deceased as well, within 20 minutes! I was so sad over his death (he's been at my husband's family's holiday meals since 1991, so he was like my family too), so I went to work late yesterday. Around 5 p.m., the boss next door ran over and got my boss and a few mins later, our boss told us our coworker, Jim, next door had just died a few minutes ago while he was on a business trip. I did not work directly with him but we would get together and gossip. He was so frank with me, he told me like it was and he made me laugh, what a week :(

RIP "Chelsie" (aged 17) (died Sunday) Chelsie was diagnosed with feline AIDS years ago when she was found kicked and abused after she wandered off and crawled home. She had emergency surgery and lived many more years. May the a-hole who abused her....oh well, I'll shut up...
RIP Uncle (aged 82) (died Monday) we're going to his funeral on Friday
RIP Jim (aged 58) (died Tuesday)

Thanks Heather. Imagine how my mother in law feels :( She has alot of health problems and takes care of everyone else. She is quite a trooper. I was really worried about her -- the stress that the uncle was putting her through. He was nice but he was old fashioned, wanted to be waited on. He had a bad heart. We're not sure why he died, it might have been his diabetes and the same for my coworker.

Yeah, I can't imagine how she is feeling, or even having the strength to deal with all of this. I would crumble.
I hope she is able to hold up. Again, sorry to hear this.

Jesus....at least Chelsie and your uncle lived long lives and had people who loved them. We don't like to think about it, but death is the inevitable part of life. Sorry you had such a tough holiday.:cry:

Thanks Black Diamond. My husband said that about deaths happening in 3's and I told him that I wasn't so sure that the kitty cat counted.

You should have seen her. She had funny paws, I think it's called an extra toe. It stuck out. Her markings were so much like my kitty that was put to sleep 2 years ago. But he was huge and she was little!
