xbox live query

Never been a fan of online play, but know a few people where it might be nice to play together online.

Question is, there's 2 of us who'd want to use it (e.g. to play Left 4 Dead - 2 of us in our house and a couple of friends elsewhere) - would we need to buy 2 gold accounts or do you only buy one per console??

Please let it be one per console, cos I don't think it would be worth the money if we both have to pay for one each.

It depends on the game. Halo 3 for example allows you to bring on a guest in non-ranked matches. In fact I think it let's you have up to 3 guests on one Live account. Not sure about L4D2 though. Don't have it.


EDIT[/b] Just looked into it and apparently you can have 1 guest over XBL, but only the registered user can use a mic.

Be warned that most games DO NOT let you play 2-player splitscreen with other people over Live. The only ones that I know for certain that do this are Halo 3 and Ghost Recon: AW 1&2.

Really? That's a bit poor - really only bothered about Left 4 Dead 1 and 2.

Yeah, I wish there were more games that gave guest capability. But you're covered on L4D.

Question for the tech people....

Was planning on getting the internet soon and want to play call of duty on xbox live. Anybody know what the minnimum connection speed required is? I was just planning on getting the lowest speeds which is the verizon Starter Plan Up to 1 Mbps/384 Kbps. Any idea if that would work?
