I just needed to post this to get it out of my system because I'm feeling a bit weird right now!

I've just sold a huge chunk of my vinyl collection to a collector in London. It was a strange but somehow cathartic experience helping a total stranger to load it into his van and watching him take it away. I'm going to be emigrating in the New Year and last week I finally accepted that I can't take it all with me so it had to go. About 500 7", 10" and 12" singles and around 100 LPs have gone now.

I've been collecting for about 20 years now and some of it was pretty good stuff, all in at least Excellent/Near Mint condition - from the first Iron Maiden and Aerosmith lps to newer stuff like Pavement, Radiohead, Dinosaur Jr - but there was a fair amount of stuff in there that I didn't expect anybody else to be interested in, stuff by bands that have disappeared now but meant something to me at the time (Carter USM, Dogs D'Amour anyone?)

I've kept all of the stuff that I couldn't bear to part with (every piece of PJ-related vinyl from Green River to Backspacer, Neil Young, Stones etc) and that will be coming with me.

Now, does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of about 400-500 cd singles?! :? :?: :?
