Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is set to release their fifth studio album, Beat The Devil's Tattoo, on March 8th (UK/Europe/Japan/Australia et al), March 9th (US/Canada) and March 16th (Germay). This release signifis the band's first full-length on their own Abstract Dragon label, in partnership with Vagrant Records and Co-Op Music Group. The band wrote and recorded most of the album at The Basement Studio in Philadelphia, PA - the same room where they wrote and recorded "Howl" as well as some work in their hometown Los Angeles. Beat The Devil's Tattoo also marks the first album with drummer Leah Shapiro.

The trio is primed to embark on a North American headline tour upon release, kicking off February 26 in Sacramento and culminating at New York City's Webster Hall on April 8. Pre-sale for all shows will start Wednesday, December 2 including a show at Slim's in their original hometown of San Francisco, CA on release day.

I saw them at the Tower with KOL too. I like what they played then, but I heard they are even better as the headliner. Hopefully I'll be able to catch them at the TLA.

PLEASE REPOST THIS: The band's personal storage locker was broken into and Michael Been's (Robert's dad and our sound man) had his vintage equipment stolen. Items were 1954 Fender Esquire (Yellow with Black Pick Guard), 1968 Ampeg Scrolltop Fretless Bass, 1964 Black Fender Precision Bass and a 1968 Gretsch Country Gentleman Single Cutaway. Please repost this and help spread the word - these items were extremely personal and the band, Michael, crew and management are devastated over this brazen act. Thank you.

It was a co-headlining tour. And as far as I'm concerned, BRMC was the one good show people got out of that tour...

And I feel terrible this happened to BRMC.Why couldn't it happen to the KoL bastards?

I don't know if I'd say it was co-headlining because they were always opening for KOL, but BRMC has such a loyal fanbase and there was definitely a lot of people who were there primarily to see them. I definitely heard often, at both shows I saw from that tour (Boston and Providence), that BRMC should being having KOL open for them. Either way that was a sick one two punch from two great bands. I had third row dead center too, which was unreal!! I had listened a lot to Howl and Baby 81, but had never seen them live. I was so impressed I have picked up tickets to see them headline the House of Blues Boston in April. Can't wait.

Wow that sucks about their equipment, hope they find whomever did it.

On brighter news the first single has been released, Beat The Devil's Tattoo (kinda sounds like something off Howl) :D

Also the philly date should be Apr. 6 (Tues.) not the 7th

Anyone heard of a band called ZaZa? Apparently they are opening up the last leg of the tour which is the one i'll be at. Was curious as to what they sounded like or anything. The Whigs are the first supporting act (2/26-3/14) then Band Of Skulls (3/18-3/27) then ZaZa.
