Let's all have a moment of silence for the end of Pearl Jam's 2009 tour. No more rarities, no more live Backspacer and no more checking on Set Lists to see if they played You're True or Otherside. We'll always have our boots and our memories...

Agreed, the quality of the performances, the energy, the SOUND (on stage and bootlegs), the setlists and songchoices, and the strength of the new album..... I can't think of a better vintage of Pearl Jam than the current one. All the fire of the early years with all the wisdom and band tautness, togetherness from the years in between. Fantastic!

I'd like to echo many people here and thank the band wholeheartedly. Thanks for the work and for getting such sounds into my head!!

  • Man, where do I start! I had never seen Pearl Jam before the month of October and by the morning of November 1st I had seen them four times! Every show was awesome in its own way.

    The shows I saw:

LA night 3; LA Night 4; San Diego; Philadelphia Halloween Show, Final show at the Spectrum.

My first show started with Sometimes and the last ended with Ledbetter.

I would have say that the San Diego show was my favorite of the four with Philly right behind it. I had fifth row Mike's side for SD and got one of Mike's picks. The set was just killer from beginning to the very end. It was my first time hearing favorites like Severed Hand, Last Exit, I Got Id and Ledbetter.

Philly was amazing for many reasons, the closing of the Spectrum, the World Series, getting to see my friends who introduced me to the band, great seats and getting to hear Inside Job, Satan's Bed, and Rockin' in the Free World among others.

What a great month of music, cannot wait until I can spend a ton of money on the next tour!!

I blew about 3 grand on my PJ tour and I can tell you it was worth every cent, and I would do it again if I had to. I had the most fantastic 9 days, and I cant get the boys out of my mind. I would consider going overseas to see the greatest band in the world, I hope this will be my privilege one day. In the meantime I have lots of good memories and music to listen to. PJ you rock my world and you make me happier than just about anything.

Yep...I hear ya. Bit depressing it's all over isn't it. I can't seem to move on...want to live in pj land!...but on a brighter note...maybe if we got a big group of pjaholics together we could get huge flight discounts and accommodation discounts on following an overseas tour...sounds good huh!..this thought will keep me happy...hope they make a DVD of the aust/nz tour :D

Me too. Give it 6 months, and I get another tax refund to spend on PJ! Worth every cent I blew, best 3 grand I ever spent, never regretted any of it. ;)
  • saw all four LA shows, the SD show, the Auckland show, and the Christchurch show. We live in San Diego, but had to go to Christchurch to get 10 yards from stage. Got the workout of a lifetime trying to keep from getting crushed in the pit, but it was worth it.

They opened up with Given to Fly...as Ed took a breath, I had a sign (decent size) that I made on a bed sheet. It read:

    LA x 4
    SD x 1
    AUCK
    CHCH
    We Got Some

I held it out over the barrier, so that it was directly in line with Ed. He squinted at it, smiled, gave me the thumbs up, smiled again, and they went right into Got Some...it was f*cking amazing. Best concert experience of my life, but the San Diego show was #2 all time behind the Mansfield 7/11/03 show. What a great two months. Cannot wait until next year. Thanks for the memories.

I just agree with that great sum up!
    good words!!!

and because it is so nice and great I need to let it out: just Today my Berlin Boot arrived!
Already in Europe they gave all, creating such a spectacular performance; and it went on in The States, west and east, and found its fantastic end at the Australian continent.
    What an amazing tour.
so let's indeed hope for 2010!
