Pinkpop 1992 performance

There are 8 topics devoted to the material of the Pinkpop 1992 concert, but none about the concert itself.

I always read that this concert has become legendary because it was the first time the band played for a huge crowd and therefore were really impressed. However, this was a 1992, 8 June concert and the band played three days earlier at the Rock Am Ring Festival in Germany and two days before at the Finsbury Park Festival in London. Besides, the band had become used to publicity as they already played the MTV Unplugged concert and at Saturday Night Live.

What could have made it legendary is the enormous devotion of the band on the stage, as they looked thrilled. If you’re looking for the raw performances of the early 1990s (including Vedder's notorious corduroy jacket!), this is definitely one to watch.

At least it was the performance of the year in The Netherlands, and in forty years of history of Pinkpop this Pearl Jam performance is recognized as its best ever, including by its organizer. Many will remember Vedder’s jump during Porch:

This performance was also available on vhs fairly quickly. I remember watching it before the shows in chicago in early 94. Back then things took a while to get around or placed on an "import" cd..(remember thos for $30??) You can tell from eddies entrance when he hit the stage he was like "holy shit". The rain, the dive (which could have been disasterous), and his concern for the crowd when getting back to the stage was classic eddie.

I remember watching this on youtube for the first time and being completely blown away by the energy, the music, the passion. It was electric - a great performance.
