I'm sure this has been said many, many times before- by more informed people than I. Still on a high from the Brisvegas show, I was inspired to check out YouTube for footage of the first PJ show I saw in 1995.
It was almost painful to watch- Ed looked so uncomfortable and miserable (which I'm sure he wasn't entirely, I remember it being a great show). Compared with his and the band's joyous energy in Aus the last couple of weeks, it was quite a jarring contrast. I've had a hard time letting that feeling go.
Anyways Mr Vedder- hope you're as happy as you seemed to be last week. And thank you for Brisbane!
