I helped a friend of mine move yesterday and he gave me a few vinyls that he had laying around. One of which I found somewhat interesting.

It's a Japanese Import Kinks album

At the top it says: THE SINGLES 1964-1970
and at the bottom it says: THE KINKS

The entire album cover has a pinkish hue.

It is a double disk album so when you open it up the left side has a photo of the band sitting on a cannon and the right side has some track listings. There is also a booklet that has the track listings on the front and when you open it up there is a bunch of Asian writing, as well as The Kinks discography.

On the back of the album it says: Printed in Japan, followed by some more Asian characters.

It also came with a tag, at the top it says 3,200 yen, The Singles, 1964-1970. and then there is more Asian writing.

a quick google search didn't avail much so I just thought of checking by here to see if anyone know anything about this item by the description.

does anyone know anything about this record/own a copy? how much do you think its worth?, not that I'm going to be selling it. (I love vinyls)

thanks!

I used to have this album. I paid about £15 ($30) for it about 15 years ago, which I thought was a bargain at the time. I reckon it's worth about £25 ($50) now. As a general rule Japanese compilations or best of's tend to sell for less than original titles. I used to collect Japanese vinyl pressings. They were nearly always a better quality than the European pressings and sometimes had extra tracks and extras like lyric inserts. Here's a link to an online retailer that has had this record for sale at sometime.

Now that's an epic run of songs. "Drivin'" is decent, but then BAM - BAM - BAM - BAM
Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"
