Unfortunately, there is underground parking beneath MSG so the performers don't have to actually go out on the street. Some probably do anyway, but I'm not sure that PJ would...

they have underground parking but you can still wait and see them. it's on 33rd halfway between seventh and eighth. of course you might see them walking in that way as i've seen numerous members of the rangers doing that.

Actually in 2003 after msg night 1 me and about 10 others met Ed. It was right past the AMtrak station underground, where you're saying, and as we're all just kickin it, a black van pulls up, Pete, Eds bouncer comes out and tells us "Eds gonna take a few pics and talk with you guys for a bit, but PLEASE no autographs guys! 1 request and we'll leave, please." So ed comes out bottle in hand and first one he came to was me, and I didnt expect it so I was at a loss for words...I just told him Great show and thanx for all the music thru the yrs, You guys rock..some shit like that, and he laughed, thanked me back, asked me if I was comin to nite 2, which of course I was, and kept it simple, cool, cool, kinda thing, and kept it moving to the next person.
The thing I remember most is how short he was and how fucked up on that wine, lol...btw Im 6'3 and I was also fucked up smokin thruout the whole show so it made for an interesting encounter thats for sure.
Aah, fuck it, I’m just gonna go home, turn on the fuckin’ TV...
Watch the nightly news and drink a beer...
Like I could even change the world, yeah right...

  • Ya I actually met Ed that night at MSG in '03 as well. We were all lined up on a curb and he just shook everyone's hand and we basically said "thanks for everything". Cool but short. I met him and Boom and Boom's (short) wife a few nights earlier in Camden, NJ. It was a much smaller group and we got to talk to him for a few mins about a political rally that was coming up. He was super wasted and/or tired that night too!

I don't know what the other members of the band would do during the upcoming tour but Vedder was pretty strict about not doing any pics during his solo tour when he met with the fans.

thats because if he does 1 he has to do them all. its a pain in the ass for him.

don't be groupies people. you pay to see them on stage and thats all they owe you. nothing else.

I met Stone in 2002 when I worked at Tower Records in LA and Brad had an in store appearance. I got him to sign my Bayleaf record and when I did the whole big fan speach he basically looked away and ignored me. At the time I was crushed but now I think about my approach and I cringe at how corny I must have sounded. Still, he could of been a little cooler, I mean I did buy that shitty Bayleaf album.
For the record the other guys from Brad were super cool (esp Shawn).

no doubt anything's possible, and you could also make your way over to the Ritz and hang around for a shot at an autograph or photo. to increase your odds, head over after the concert and be prepared to wait until 2am if not later before anyone from the band returns.

paraphrasing all of this from previous detailed experiences after the MSG shows in '03,...

We met Ed a few years ago after East Rutherford night 2 - they have underground parking there too. A few black vans came out - Mike waived, but it kept going. One of them stopped & Ed popped out. His bouncer said Ed was just going to say hi to everyone - no pics or autographs. Ed went to each person (about 15) & shook their hand & thanked them for comign to the show. He definitely had a good buzz going. =)

Yea they were kind of tight about that too, nobody took pics with him. Just of him talking to us. I got 2 nice ones in the end as he was about to leave and was happy with that.

I had just left! My friends Leathermandi and her hubby Cholorblind Chameleon as well as a few other friends got lucky that night. They got a SWEET ass pic of them 2 and Ed in the middle with a harmonica she caught at Philly 05 during the preset.
oh well, at least I got to meet the God McCready in Reading :)
