Had his complete discography for years now, and yesterday listened to a few of the records, great stuff. Really ambient/out there music but it really wraps around you.

Incredible stuff.

  • As I said, I have had all his work for years, but just the other day, decided to dust em off and give them a listen. Oddly enough, I had heard parts of his work before. The documentary "The Weather Underground, about 1970's radicals, featured the song I was most taken with so far, or Cliffs from Selected Ambient Works. I have seen the documentary at least 7 times, and never put the two together.

Cliffs is pretty amazing. Its really atmospheric, almost sounds like cars honking, and reverberated at certain spots. I can hear cello sounding things at certain spots.

Its a fairly simple straight forward song, but it gets to ya. Pretty powerful stuff.

as I mentioned before, this is what i love about music. This is the type of music that nestles itself in your ears, curls up, and is a comfort.
