WARNING beware of DOWN UNDER TRAVEL

DOWN UNDER ANSWERS http://www.duatravel.com booked my trip to Australia and New Zealand and have done a horrid job on creating an logistical itinerary for a FAN that has come 14,000kms to watch their favorite band! AND all 7 SHOWS!!
They have made incorrect bookings at hotels, they have scheduled inapproiate activities, they have been late taking us to the TEN CLUB entry time, and to top it off my POSTERS have become damaged do to the fact that the people they hired not taking care of my luggage (and my friends bag also)---basically we arrived late in auckland and our bags were brought to the hotel without us--than our room was wrong when we arrived --a single for 2 people....and posters runied!!

For those who might say "well didnt you get an itnerary?" My reply is I recieved it only 5 days before my flight by email and a hard copy was sent to me only 2-3 days before i left...while my friend never saw a hard copy til sydney!!

For almost everyshow we arrive on the day of the event with a short time to get ready for the show--or NO TIME AT ALL--

In almost every city we were placed in shotty/shady hotels---all located in the citys center far from the reason why people come to Australia and New Zealand---the beaches and landscape---basically placed in the cheapest hotels--at least 30 mins from all venues---

and the tours not over...lets hope things change for christchurch!

    interesting...I'm very surprised that they didn't do a good job. I'm a Travel Agent and have used them quite a few times with NO problems whatsoever...I've actually only had rave reviews from clients...I'm sorry your experience wasn't the same :-(

    Yeah, Pearl Jam has been awesome....but wehn you travel as far as I did...you expect to show up at the shows on time and not a few minutes before the gate opens but enought time to get a good spot....

    As far as Australia....its the NICEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD....and would come back immediatley, just not with DOWN UNDER ANSWERS---

    Best bet is always book it yourself.

    Wow, I booked the Down Under Travel trip too, but didn't experience anything bad about it. Although I only saw 4 shows, I thought the trip was put together very nicely. To me, the hotels were perfectly situated, and all were absolutely up to standard. Especially the huge deluxe breakfasts' that were included. The tour people (Murreys) were always on time (except for 1 glitch when the roadblocks were up after a show), and very friendly & flexable. When we asked to be taken to a show earlier than scheduled it was no problem. The side trips were all fun & interesting. I wouldn't have changed a thing.
