Not a bad list. Don't like their choice for #1 though. Sorry no PJ songs made it. :x I'm into the alternative/indy scene a lot, so about 75% the songs on here I've heard or have. :)

Excuse me, but I have the sudden uncontrollable urge to murder someone after seeing the #1 choice.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!

Time to pretend(number 2 on the list) is a great song but I think I like Kids and Electric Feel more.

    MGMT is great

How the hell do the Yeah Yeah Yeah's have 4 songs on the list? And I think they were all in the top 50, maybe even top 40.
  • Is this NME's way of trying to gain popularity?

Fortunately, I use my own judgement in what music is best which is just as well as this list is mostly dog shit. Mostly.
It's gonna be a glorious day...

No, the N.M.E sucks. The N.M.E have always sucked. Throughout the 80's & 90's when I was buying music papers I never once bought the N.M.E. It's only good for toilet paper.

Ignore them and their silly lists.

I've never actually heard of NME before this post. I like to think of myself as very cut off. I don't have a television and the only time I ever hear the radio is the first five minutes I'm at the gym before the headphones go in and the last five minutes I'm at the gym when the headphones come out. I have never found a music magazine I've liked. Rollingstone, Spin, etc., are all filled with their own politically motivated, mainstream ass kissing, tradition bashing, unciteable, no evidence horseshit agenda. I don't need the lead singer of The Killers telling me that Grunge isn't a genre, that it's just "loud rock." I've listened to almost every contemporary band of the last 40 years and come out of it with Pearl Jam being my favorite. . . I don't need a magazine to tell me why I'm right or wrong in my decision.

One of the happiest days of my life was when I found out Eddie wiped his ass with a copy of Rollingstone at a concert. I'm completely with you man. It seems that that's the only thing it's good for.

i have actually been liking lists like this. there's a lot of stuff on most "top-of-the-decade" lists i've never heard and hearing new stuff other people like is always good. it's one of the many ways to hear new music. i bet most people would find at least one new (to them) song on that list of 100 that they like...

i'm actually very surprised mmj didn't make it up there with something from at dawn, it still moves, or even z.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I have some pretty different taste in music then those guys do.

There were probably about 20 songs maybe out of the 100 that they picked that i would have on my top 100.
