thanksgiving eve plans

it's said (tho i dunno how true it is, or not, anymore) that thanksgiving eve is THE biggest night for going out. makes sense, all those college-age kids returning home, hooking up with old friends...even amongst those who are adults and travel back home, etc.

i live close by my family and most of my friends, so tonight really isn't a *big* night for us in that sense, but both having tomorrow off is...and thus, we always go out, this year is no exception. hitting up our fave italian place for dinner, and plan on lingering a few hours over good food, good drinks, and good company. we're having a three-some. haha. well, we'll be three in our party. me, my hubby and a good/newish single friend joining us. hubby will love being out with 2 women. and it'll be great conversation!


not hitting the road for my sister's house tomorrow until 12:30, so plenty of time to stay out late!

what are your plans?

i've read before that today is the biggest drinking day of the year, but can't find a definitive stat on the net.

i did see a study that showed july 4th was the event for highest sales in grocery stores. I guess it would be subjective, because you have to measure grocery sales as well as bar sales for both events. tough to measure actual consumption.

The correct statement is the night before Thanksgiving is the busiest night for bars, and other establishments of the like, in the US. With nearly 80% of employed people being off tomorrow, it makes sense. That's more than the 4th of July or Christmas.

I will be at either O'Neal's or Con Murphy's in Philly.

i'll be in a restaurant with a really nice bar inside of it.
if any of our friends have a local gig going on, may stop by....but i think that happened last saturday, and we had fun! hubby has no gigs tonight....so just dinner and drinks out. fun!

they were talking about this on my favorite morning radio show. People were calling in with stories about their hometown-throwdowns. It was pretty hilarious.

I haven't gone in years, but it is huge in my hometown. There are four high schools in town, and the alumni from ALL of them converge on one local bar. There's a huge line to get in. Once my dad said to my brother, who graduated in 2001, "people from your class still go to that?" and I said, "dad, people from YOUR class still go to it."

I'm running a turkey trot type road race tomorrow morning, just a fun run but nonetheless probably not a good idea to go out drinking tonight.

tho, can get in accidents close to home too....dunno if it's still true, but i think in the past it was stated that most accidents occur within a 5 mile radius of your home?

meh, not a fan of tonight, but i seem to get dragged out year after year.
