The Greatness Of Pearl Jam

In the past 2 weeks I have watched several live performances of various musical types on TV. I have seen Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, highlights of V Fest 2009, some of the CMA and AMA shows. and finally the ACL show of Pearl Jam's.

If you ever wonder why we are all hooked on Pearl Jam, watch some other music types live. The live versions show how much mixing the average Top 40 artist needs to be enjoyed. When that is all taken away live.... wow it just becomes a mess. Watching Carrie Underwood should mean that I hear her voice, instead I get to hear back-up singers. Other musicians really show what a producer does.

I guess what I am saying is that Pearl Jam is incredibly consistent in their sound, no matter what the setting. I am grateful for that and I really hope they play Alpine Valley again next summer.

    Pearl Jam surely is the most underrated band in the world (and they're huge already!), but i can't imagine how hard it would be to get a ticket if pearl jam get the place they deserve in the world :o
