Anyone else get shafted???

I realize Friday isnt a holiday, but a 4 day weekend would have been nice....

Oh well.......

    Not this time but I've been there and it does suck, knowing almost everybody else was off.

    The holidays are nothing but a pain in the ass as far as work goes, for us truck drivers.

    The same amount of freight has to move in 4 days instead of 5.....Last night I worked over 12 hours.....And it will be the same tonight and tomorrow.....

    But thats fine....Ill go buy myself something nice for Christmas....


    Plus i was shocked to hear that we will be off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day......I havent had Christmas Eve off.......In YEARS!!!!!

    I'm off, but it's a mandated furlough day...so no pay for that day this year.
    Zoso has to work...which leaves me free to shop to my little heart's content :oops: :lol:

    i volunteered to work.

    keeps me away from all of the leftover dressing sandwiches i will wanna eat on Friday.

    i'd rather work than go shopping, that's for damn sure.

    If it makes you feel any better, my days off are Sunday and Monday, and I worked this past Sunday and Monday (monday until 12:30am on tuesday) and I'll be working thru this weekend too probably....

    But I own my own business, so I get to check here as often as I'm not in the middle of something else. :D

    tho i have many, many times....and worked retail. :shock:
    i didn't mind too much tho, i never worked in truly crazy stores.

    however, what truly makes this year awesome is i think this is the first time, EVER, in our marriage...my husband does not have to work the day after thanskgiving!!! YAY! miraculous! we shall be off thanksgiving through december 8th. 8-)

    he'll more than likely be working the day after christmas, as he almost always has as well...but at least we have this one victory. :lol:

    I'll be working. I could have it off, but decided against visiting the folks thanks to the airlines holding everyone hostage at 600.00 a flight. (Maine to Florida)

    I have to work on Thursday morning at the hospital...0400-1200.
    Somehow in the bullshit that was me getting moved to nightshift I'm going to have to work 5/6 holidays this year... Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
    Lame... but yeeeeeah double time.

    To save cash, PSU tells employees that they're turning off the heat in the buildings on campus so it is 'strongly recommend' that we take a vacation day. Last year I worked just to stick it to the man - I was the only one who came in and nearly died of boredom. This year, I'm acknowledging defeat and staying home...
