Howie Long vs. Mike Rowe

Is anyone else just a little annoyed with the Howie Long Chevy commercials in which it seems he roams America's hardware store parking lots being a dick to anyone who doesn't own a Chevy? I don't think I can buy a Chevy for the rest of my life, not because of their cars which I'm sure are great, but because of Howie Long.

Now lets contrast this with Ford's commercials featuring Mike Rowe. Mike seems to be a great guy, and also seems to be the manliest of men to walk this earth since Clint Eastwood, WITHOUT being a dick.

I've never really been one for product loyalty but in the future if I'm truck buying, I think I'll choose a Ford over a Chevy.

    Haha. I was just thinking about that the other day. Howie does come off as a complete asshat, but based on everything I know about him that's probably how he really is. Mike Rowe rocks (what's with the hat though?) but the BEST truck commercials out there are Dennis Leary's voiceovers for Ford. Those are some quality spots:

    i think i would select the truck that best fit my needs, regardless of who the talking head is that is being paid to promote said truck.

    I cannot stand the Chevy commercials. Although i wish they would all just go away.

    Wasn't Howie and the rest of the idiots on Fox's pregame pitchmen for Ford a few years ago?

    Have to agree with 81 here. I'm not buying a car, cell phone, camera or diabetes medication based on the actor paid to sell it to me. Now, on the other side of that argument, Howie Long is a putz and Mike Rowe, though I can't stand his love for the word "poo", seems to be pretty cool

    I'd rather have a beer with Mike Rowe than Howie Long any day, but that doesn't have any impact on what truck I'd buy.
