I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't hate it, but I can't STAND it when people shout for stupid shit like Dirty Frank when awesome songs like Who You Are, Pilate, etc never get played... Why not shout for Hitchiker, All Night, Otherside, or something that is rare like Dirty Frank, but also a decent song...

    OK, one more word: BROTHER!!!!!!

Dirty Frank goes back much earlier than 1994. Live it dates back to March of 92, but I don't know exactly when the studio version was recorded. It is on the Alive single/EP along with the re-recorded EFlow, Wash and, eh, Alive.

    What am I, an idiot?

Of course I know when DF came out. I was just having the conversation in 1994 ... about the first time I heard it on boot.

I agree....its definitely better than that Nickelback song where they are singing about how they want to be rock stars.....aren't they already "rock stars" albeit not good ones though.

  • Back in the day I had the alive single and we put it on the stereo one night at a party. There was a dude there that night with a few of his friends that we really didn't know that well and when Frank came on he was standing in the corner rockin' out, dancing and to this day we call him dirty frank. Hell, I didn't know the dude's real name for like two years after that night.

Anyways, lyrically its a fun song, never meant to be a hit, and I think the music is great. PJ FUNK!!
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

  • If they got a ben & jerry ice cream flavor, it should be Dirty Frank.

Strawberry syrup for blood, bits of cherry or strawberry for meat chunks, white chocolate for bone all mixed in vanilla/chocolate ice cream.

Did Pearl Jam have a Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor? I thought I heard something about it a long time ago...probably a joke. I thought it was just called Pearl Jam and Nirvana had one called Nirvanilla....anyone remember?

    Agreed.
I believe a possible reason why people want to hear it is to add it to their 'collection'. If they have never played 'Last Kiss', it popularity might be different and we might see the occasional, 'Play Last Kiss' sign at the gigs.

Dirty Frank isnt a great song. But I enjoyed it when the band played it at the Gorge in 2006. I would rather hear it played than Last Kiss. That is just my. 02¢
