No one is claiming that pollution is harmless.

This issue is only about whether or not human activity is causing the planet to heat up.

Spewing trillions of tons of pollution into the atmosphere and deforesting along with OTHER things sounds like human activity to me. If that's NOT human activity that's heating up the planet then what is doing it then?

Linking me to realclimate.org isn't going to help sway my belief here. You just linked me to the site that is used as a front for those scientists who created the leaked emails. It is clearly displayed in those emails that those scientists use that site to promote only their side of things and badmouth any dissenters.

dude ... if you read the site - you will see there are dissenting voices posting all the time in there ... everything is discussed openly ...

forget about all the science for one second and look at the world around you? ... massive flooding, record temperatures, earliest snowfall, warmest november ... etc. ...

everything is happening as has been hypothesized for decades ...

what do you think is the motivation of all these climate scientists?

People also conveniently forget that the glaciers are melting, coasts are diminishing and the Northwest Passage is widening. http://www.realscience.us/2009/08/10/cl ... t-passage/
They would rather argue that it's all man-made, or better yet - a myth, instead.

Where did I say this wasn't happening? In fact, if I recall correctly, the blog of that one scientist I posted is one of the scientists who believes in Global Warming.

Stop with the hyperbole. How can everything happen as has been hypothesized for decades when what was being hypothesized in the 70's was a cooling of the earth, not a warming.

a few scientists talked about a cooling in the 70's ... it is nowhere near the consensus we have now - plus scientific methods and models are more elaborate ...

again - what do you think is the motivation of all these scientists?

Some good news coming from the People, not the political realm.

Thousands march in 'wave' against climate change ahead of Copenhagen conference
Ten of thousands have taken part in demonstrations across Britain to demand action on climate change ahead of the Copenhagen summit.

Around 20,000 protesters in London, many dressed in blue, circled the Houses of Parliament where they created a human “wave” to highlight their concerns.

Dozens of organisations including the RSPB, Oxfam and Christian Aid, worked together as the Stop Climate Change coalition for the march, which was organised in an attempt to persuade politicians to take dramatic action at the Copenhagen climate change conference.

Demonstrators called on the British Government to force rich countries to cut their emissions by at least 40 per cent by 2020, provide $150 billion a year by 2020 to help the world’s poor cope with the impact of climate change, and increase the UK’s renewable energy supply.

Former BBC weather forecaster Michael Fish was among those leading the march. He said: “I’m very concerned. We must do something before the situation gets even worse and millions die and lose their homes.

“I hope this march will make a difference. It certainly shows the depth of feeling in this country about the issue.”

Ashok Sinha, the director of the Stop Climate Change coalition, said he estimated that more than 40,000 people had joined the protest, although the Metropolitan Police put the figure at around 20,000.

He added: “We’ve got so many people coming together. We’ve got faith-based groups, anti-poverty campaigners, green groups, students, community groups, women’s groups and unions.

“That diversity and plurality shows there is a great passion about this issue and is a massive sign that we want, and need, much more urgent and effective action.”

In Glasgow, demonstrators marched from Bellahouston Park in the south of the city to Kelvingrove Park for a rally.

Strathclyde Police said about 7,000 had turned out, which is believed to be Scotland's largest ever protest in support of action on climate change.

A march was also scheduled in Belfast.

soo ... it's so they can have a career and have grants? ... do you not think that there is more grants to be had in being a climate skeptic? ... the last thing gov'ts around the world want to do is act on climate change ...

but yet - all these countries in the world believe we need to act ...
  • How are we suppose to belive these so called scientist when they have been caught using different temps from different decades and they co mingled them with current temputures, and they are being susidized in one form or another and by one government or another. The fact of the matter is they are trying to manipulate the statistics to affect public policy. (cap and trade ) These people are leftist radicals who don't want to tell us the truth. They want to advance their agenda.

too bad the only thing that you wrote that is factual is that they get money from gov'ts

Of course the governments aren't going to appear to want to act on climate change. It makes it an easier sell to their people when the bills (metaphorically speaking) show up at the taxpayers door.

    hahaha ...

i hear everyone's concerns about cap and trade systems and i for one have never said that was the way to go ... but it's akin to blaming a drug company for selling you drugs to cure cancer ... are ya gonna say cancer doesn't exist because you don't have faith in the drug company??

it's like 1 person in 100 didn't die from being doused with toxic sludge and that's enough to discredit the entire movement ...

oh well ... i guess you guys will continue to source your information from where you want ... and people will continue to suffer ...

Copenhagen Con Men Launch Global Carbon Tax Heist

    Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Hours after flying into Copenhagen on luxurious private jets and being chauffeured around in gas-guzzling limousines, climate con men convening in the Danish capital announced that the shrinking bank accounts of the middle class would be further eviscerated via the introduction of global carbon taxes.
On the back of the EPA’s announcement that the life-giving gas humans exhale and plants absorb is a deadly poison, the British government’s climate advisory team has given the green light for a raft of new taxes to be heaped on commercial flights, which are already taxed to the hilt.
“The era of cheap flights for millions of British holidaymakers is over, the Government’s most influential climate change advisers warn today. The Committee on Climate Change says green taxes will have to rise over the next few decades to curb the growing demand for fuel-guzzling air travel,” reports the Daily Mail.
In addition, Copenhagen attendees are set to debate a “global aviation tax to help poorer nations combat climate change.”
    A D V E R T I S E M E N T

“Although detailed funding decisions are not expected to be finalised at the Copenhagen summit, several aviation tax options have stayed in the official negotiating text,” reports the Financial Times.
“We would hope that the politicians would recognise the limitations to any global aviation tax,” Steve Ridgway, chief executive, told the FT. “Any carbon tax or levy is a blunt instrument which won’t necessarily deliver any climate change benefit.”
The Air Transport Association of America labeled the measure “an exorbitant tax to fund climate change adaptation measures in developing countries”.
The tax, which will initially raise around $10 billion a year, has nothing whatsoever to do with helping poorer nations and everything to do with bankrolling the behemoth architecture of global governance now being moved into place.
As we have documented, the global carbon tax, which will start small but grow rapidly and ultimately be levied on every human activity imaginable, will be the slush fund for the world government now being announced. The entities collecting the taxes are the same groups and individuals citing fraudulent data about global warming to justify a massive and sustained tax on life that will be paid straight into the carbon indulgence scams that they own.
People already struggling to scrape together vacation money in the midst of a ravaging recession and increasing unemployment will be forced to purchase carbon indulgences which will be paid straight into the coffers of the global government overseeing the international CO2 tax.
Global carbon taxes on air travel will not just hit holiday makers, they will increase prices of everything else that derives from such transportation.
But fear not, because Al Gore’s 20 bedroom mansion and his heated swimming pool, all of which devours more than 20 times the amount of electricity compared to the average home, will continue to hum along while Gore pays offsets to the very carbon trading markets that he has a giant stake in.
“Further massive increases in the cost of flights would be a completely unjustified attack on ordinary families’ ability to enjoy a well- earned holiday,” said Matthew Sinclair of the TaxPayers’ Alliance.
This is the latest salvo in the long term agenda to lower living standards in developed countries, devastate economies, and create widespread poverty and degradation as part of the “post-industrial” society that globalists are attempting to manufacture for the peasants under the contrived climate scam, while the elite will continue to sit in their ivory towers, scoffing caviar and being shuttled around in Lear jets and limousines while lecturing the browbeaten public about how having children, driving cars, eating meat, and living any kind of reasonable quality of life is a crime against nature.
