We Lost one of our own yesterday.

A good friend of mine finally lost his battle with stomach cancer. His name was Dennis who was a Big fan of not only pearl jam but just music in general.. I would just like to take a moment to talk about him because he was a special friend and a good human being. I first met him in the parking lot at camden in 06. He and his family are good friends with my sister-in-law for many years. The first day I met him we just hit it off talking pearl jam and music in general. we went to alot of shows together which included not only Pearl Jam but Tool, Alice in Chains, Foo fighters and Stone Temple Pilots.. He never backed out of going to concerts, and whenever I texted him about a show he would always respond by saying get me a ticket too..The past few months got really hard on him with the treatments and everything else. That when pearl jam announced the philly shows he really wanted to go so he bought 10c. tix for the 10/30. show. He was excited and was determined to get better for that show.. about week before the show he said he didn't feel he could make the show cause he was weak, and also that he was in a wheelchair. He didn't have the energy to stand. seeing him that day was said, But we still talked music as always, he was asking about the other shows the past few nights. The one thing that still haunts me is he said to me I hope they play Off he goes, and Present tense two of his favorite pearl jam songs.. So when we went in I was telling my friend who was sitting with me that night is they have to play at least 1 of those songs, and what happens they play both Fucking songs.. I texted him right away saying that they heard you in the parking lot my friend. I just wanted to thank Pearl Jam for giving my friend a special night cause that was the last night he smiled.. Rest in peace my friend I will miss you..

    ... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
