eddie's solo pisses me off because...

because most of his songs were shorter than 2 minutes. :( the longest two were covers. I liked the songs but seems like he really rushed it in.

He said he did that on puropse so Sean Penn wouldn't have to edit the songs in the movie.

i definitly like this cd and find the shorter songs interesting... but why not put more?

and more importantly, he definitly put the long delay after Guaranteed just to make the album seem longer. i cant stand that.

It's not really. It was the "into the wild" soundtrack and marketed as such. All lyrics, melodies, everything was geared towards the feel of the movie.

Do you really think a ev record not supporting a movie would sound like that?

it is eddie vedders first solo record, it was a soundtrack. that is all. i dont want or feel like arguing this point AGAIN. if it wasnt a soundtrack, no, it wouldnt have sounded like that, turns out though, it was a soundtrack and eddie vedders first solo record sounded like that.

that's a good point too, because I'm sure Ed would find some sort of an inspiration through something similar about a journey or wandering into the wild.

im saying he saw the album was extremely short and decided to add a song that sounds like wolf anyway at the end after a delay to make the album longer.

and that makes perfect sense- no one wants to release something that short.

He also had No More, Photographs, and a couple of other songs to make it longer but he choose not or the studio did.

So no...he's not tryin' to rip you off for paying $12 for a short album. He made it that way but could have made it longer.

regardless of length, people were going to buy this, because hey, its eddie vedders first solo album and people are interested in what it sounds like.

30 minutes makes it all killer no filler. nuthin wrong with a short one. those songs are awesome albeit some are very short. its okay.

first of all i downloaded it so i didnt spend 12 bucks haha. anyway, where those other songs completed before the album was done?

i just have a thing for albums that are short and this one is cutting it close- thats why i brought this up.

i never noticed it until weezer released 2 cds that where a little over a half hour long in just over a year.

i like your point about the all killer, no filler... except those minutes of silence. i'll find a way to get rid of them and only have like 3 seconds between the hidden track. then this thread can die haha.

I think No More was used for a different soundtrack, a movie about soldiers.

Photographs was probably recorded during the session because it's only 1 minute long. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Into_the_Wild_%28soundtrack%29

But in the end, it's an ACOUSTIC album also, if you listen to the Violent Femmes or any other acoustic acts, most of the songs are short. Hard to do a guitar solo on an acoustic.

I love the album, it's fantastic. On the contrary though, I agree seems like some of the songs could have had a few more chorus refrains to make them a tad bit longer. Still an incredible record though. One of my favorites.
