Had to get my new card because I lost my last card and couldn't make any payments on it, so the guy at visa last week tells me my account is still okay, just to order a new card. So he does it for me. Get my new card...

Phone to activate, this is what i get:
them: You cant activate your card because you haven't made your last payment.
me: Yes, i know, i want to make a payment today.
them: sorry, you cant make any payment because your card is not activated.

:!: :?: :!:
THEN the lady gives me shit for not having paper bills on hand... because I do internet banking!

the payment, by the way, is 16 dollars.
I can't buy my snowboard passes for tomorrow because of 16 dollars that they won't even let me pay.
Thanks a lot, Visa.

    x2.
  • Cancel your account. These companies need your business, you don't need them.

  • I know from past experience that since your account number has changed then there can be a problem with the payment going to the correct account. For example if you cc number is 1234 5678 9011 2233 and the new one is 1234 5678 9011 2234. There is a good possibility there is some lag getting it to correct CC.

Because at that bank i only have a Visa, since they screwed me over on so many things most of my accounts i changed elsewhere but had so many visa points that i wanted to keep the visa til i used them. So my banking was done at another institution, where i made bill payments. But when I lost the card the guy ordered me a new one, which changed the number, and he told me i could make my payments when i got the new card.

file a complaint with visa - i've had problems before with over-zealous attendants and they should issue you an apology ...

But couldn't you have made online payments from your other bank account?

I could have, had the person i talked to first not cancelled my card before telling me i had 16 dollars owing. I barely use my visa card anymore, but when I needed it for something I phoned to get a new one when I realised I couldn't find my old one. He cancelled the old one, ordered me a new one (they give you a new number) and then just when we were about done talking he tells me what I have owing, and that i'm not in trouble just pay when I get the new card.

    Easier said than done!
