I know I'm way late to this topic, but what was re-recorded for Lost Dogs and how do we know this?

    My understanding is none of the songs were completely rerecorded... They just added and edited here and there. Just my understanding though, could be wrong. Maybe a closer look at the album liner notes has the answer?

    What stands out in my mind is that Alone is totally different than the single, different vocal track and instrumentation, U originally didn't have the horn track or whatever it is, and I'm pretty sure Wash is a different vocal track with different words...correct me? Obviously Brother is sans vocal track.

    Ok, my own correction of myself: I was thinking of Hard to Imagine which was the song with different lyrics...quite surprising the first time I heard it. Also, I totally forgot that Dirty Frank is a bit different than the original. This album was so cool b/c even if you had all the b-sides on singles it was like getting a totally new double album because of all the changes to the tracks.

    U, Hard To Imagine, Footsteps, Drifiting, Wash, and Dirty Frank are different on Lost Dogs than their original versions. I think Black Red Yellow might be extended by a few seconds as well.

    Are they "re-recorded?" I thought they were just alternate takes from way back when, with maybe a handful having minor overdubs.

    well they're not all completely re-recorded. Hard To Imagine and Dirty Frank definitely have totally new vocal tracks than they originally did which I assume Eddie recorded specifically for the Lost Dogs release. In fact, Dirty Frank also has a new lead guitar track. I think Wash is completely re-recorded....but I'm not positive.
