ROCK.

Damn, next time PJ heads south I am GOING.

From the boots I have heard, clips I have viewed, I must say the place to experience a REAL PJ show, thanks to a lively crowd, is overseas.

Cheers to those down under who really know how to Rock.

    I live in Melbourne. Have been to 10 shows down under and 5 in europe. From my experience the Europeans are better.
    2/3/98 Melbourne, 18/2/03 Melbourne, 19/2/03 Melbourne, 20/2/03 Melbourne, 4/9/06 Lisbon, 5/9/06 Lisbon, 7/9/06 Madrid, 9/9/06 Marsielle, 11/9/06 Paris, 7/11/06 Sydney, 8/11/06 Sydney, 10/11/06 Brisbane, 11/11/06 Brisbane, 13/11/06 Melbourne, 14/11/06 Melbourne, 16/11/06 Melbourne, 20/11/00 Melbourne
  • I love aussie crowds and european crowds.Saw pearl jam in Paris and Berlin and must say Berlin was one of the best i seen as far as crowds go.The Newcastle gig in 2006 and Sydney 3 2006 were really going off. Aussie people love rock music but im sure (because there is only 21 million people living there) there must be more die hard fans in USA and Europe.Having said that I think the average aussie concert goer knows how to make a band feel appreciated.It's cool to see a near sold out stadium tour of australia.They would be loving it down there.

    I guess different shows will have a different outcome.

    Melb #1 in 06 started pathetic with the crows. With even Eddie making a comment. The whole of mikes side sat down for the start, even he was pleaing with the to get up. 2nd show was a bit better. And the 3rd show was as good as europe. I guess by show number 3 it was all the die hards and the casual listener went to #1

    Yeah, I'm Australian too and have to say the crowds and PJ shows I have seen outside Australia have been way better. Maybe this tour is better, crowd-wise, I hope so... the band certainly deserves it, I heard the 2006 crowds were bad... 2003 weren't that great. All that being said, I'm never missing another home tour... watching the setlists come through is killing me!

  • never see pj in Australia but i love Aussies spirit and way to live,,so must be a great crowd.. :D

    seems like this tour is better but from my personal experience the US shows especially north east kick major ass

    It's really the GA buzz that's doing the job, I say. There were some absolute dud crowds in 03 and 06.
    115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!
  • I think given the size of our population we do pretty damn well. But some of the dud crowds could be due to the fact that we are so grateful for major acts to come down here, that a lot of people who aren't totally familiar with the entire catalogue tend to come along. They rock out to the singles, but don't know too much else.
    If I knew then, would I know now?

    * Melbourne Park - Mar 02, 1998
    * Brisbane QSAC- Nov 25, 2009
    * EV Solo- QPAC- March 10, 12 and 13 2011

  • Ive been to 10 shows now, both europe and oz, and crowds in europe put aussie crowds to shame! Zagreb 2006 remains and probably always will be the best pearl jam gig i have ever witnessed! Having said that the hometown show in Melbourne last week was a very close second!
    2003: Melbourne 1
    2006: Verona, Vienna, Zagreb, Melbourne 1-2-3, Adelaide 1-2
    2009: Melbourne
    2010: Belfast
    2012: Werchter
    2014: Melbourne, Adelaide, EV Melb 1-2

    Amen to that!

    I hope PJ never have seats here again. Even though I get 2nd or 3rd row here w/ seats with my 10c number, I'd rather be further back in GA!

    Actually Australia had PJ's largest fan base outside of the U.S.

    I Remember reading an article with Mike i think and he said that Pearl Jam sells more albums per capita in Australia then anywhere else.
