The Killers played last saturday here in San Juan and it was a an excellet show. The sound was great. Their music is not what I usually like but I have to say they are a great band. Lots of catchy songs but have good lyrics to them.

We usually don't get that many shows down here.

Just wondering how the PJ community feels about The Killers.

I dig 'em! One of the only rock bands they play on the radio that I can stand/that are actually decent! They're supposed to be pretty good live as well!

I like them. :) Mr. Brightside and When You Were Young are probably my favourite songs.

don't own Sawdust and haven't listened to Day & Age much, so fave albums are Hot Fuss and Sam's Town.

I like the catchiness, the lyrics are pretty good too. "harmless" stuff to listen to. nice at work.

I saw them on their very first tour, at Jones Beach ( on 9-30-05 ) ,
the very night before Pearl Jam @ Borgata (10-01-05-- Night 2 ).

The songs sounded familiar and it translated well in a live setting.

One thing that blew me away was their entire set was over and done with in just over and hour and a half .
    I was like WTF ?

"Jenny Was a Friend of Mine" has one of the best bass lines since "Staying Alive."

I've seen them 3 times now, and they're really good live.

Check out the Live From Royal Albert cd/Blu ray that they just put out. Very good.

  • I love The Killers, they're one of the few modern bands I like (along with Wolfmother whose new album I adore). I think their new New Moon soundtrack song is awful though and the worst song they've ever released, not big on their Hotel California cover either. Hot Fuss and Sam's Town are two of my favorite records of the decade. In 2006/2007 I probably listened to Sam's Town everyday. Day and Age is great too, it just lacks the big singles that their other albums have. The Killers are great live though unless Brandon's fragile ego is hurt by a lackluster crowd, which has happened on this tour. I've seen them four times live.

I've seen them live several times, outdoors at festivals, headlining and in early daytime slots a few years back, and at indoor shows too. They put on a great show everytime.

I will say though that the addition of a 5th band member for the live show during the Sam's Town tour in 07 made them sound even better than they had. The singers voice can be a bit hit & miss also, but in general, i really like them.

Andy You're A Star has some pretty brilliant lyrics. Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine has awesome bass. All These Things That I've Done is a bonafide live anthem.

Wasnt so keen on some of the stuff on their last album, but i like that each album has been pretty different so far.

Well, their first record was ACE, good retro stuff and sounded like a cool The Cure-Duran Duran tribute band. Sam's Town was a LOT weaker effort with some 2-3 songs I like, saw them twice and thought they became a decent festival band. Not very good or special but still good.
But this 3rd record is a pile of pop shit if you ask me, got rid of this terrible stuff after 2 listens  The vocals and the lyrics suck big monkey balls.

    fuckin sellouts

I really liked their first two albums but after hearing their first single from their third album I refused to buy it. Maybe they can go back in the right direction on the next album, but yeah, they went total pop.

The rest of the album is pretty different, you have to keep in mind they recorded "Human" in Summer 2007, it was separate from the Day & Age sessions in 2008.

Dustland Fairytale is one of the best songs they have on any album.

Check out Saw Dust as well, their cover of Dire Straits, Romeo and Juliet is top notch.

Didn't  want to start a new thread....

Anyone have a Killers fanclub "Victims" pre-sale code that they are not using that I can use for the Omaha show?
Please DM me if you can share.
    It would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

So, I have LOVED the album Hot Fuss for 20 years now. At any point in that time frame, I would put it in my personal top 10 albums. Finally for the first time, I finally saw them live. Boy were they GOOOOOOD at a 2200 person GA venue!
