What's the policy regarding audience recordings of shows that will eventually be available for sale?

Kat/Admins have openly said on this site that audience recordings are fine for yourself, but do not distribute them, as the band wants only the highest quality recordings reaching it's fans.

Thanks for the info. Came by a recording of Bonnaroo. Pretty good one two and what a great show. It only makes me long for the soundboard recording which I will pick up when available.

i don't know if this is entirely true. there are sites out there like bt.etree.org that offer PJ audience recordings for people to d/l. they verify the band is trade friendly. if something like an offically released bootleg made it up there as a torrent, it would be removed.

i could be completely wrong, but i thought aud recordings were okay to be traded and the offical boots could only be traded after they are done selling them.

Also, the 2008 shows are available on pearljam.com. Thank you for not posting links to audience recordings. When the band is offering their music to people, the traders have understood and not posted links to a poorer quality item of the same thing. It's one thing to have recorded your own personal momento of the show just for yourself and then it's another thing to distribute it all over the internet when one of the most important things to the band is sound quality. Thank you everyone for cooperating.

This was posted on another thread.
