I can't believe that no one has replied to my thread. I think you all would like him. He is the front man of the verve pipe.

Does he do it for free or something?
I never knew who the verve pipe were. So I guess their music is new to me.
I think Pearl Jam fans would appreciate his solo music besides the old VP songs. No, he's not free, I'm not sure what he charges. Also, I'm not on his "street team" or anything. I'm just a fan. Just spreading the word about something nice!
I'll see the verve pipe for the first time in February. It's only 2 original members however...but I'm looking forward.

loved cat too, until religion crowded his mind.
Good news for all us Cat lovers...... The Religion of $$$$ seems to be bringing him back into the fold.
I get emails from his site all the time hawking shit. If he ever tours close to me it is a 100% lock that I will make it to that show.
I've seen him play at a friend's house in 2007 and 2008 in VA. I've seen him play solo at small venues in both MD and VA. He lives in Michigan. I think he'll play any where in the U.S. I know he plays in Philly often. Sometimes he opens up for Toad the Wet Sprocket.

Sorry that it's taken a while to post.
We have friends that live close to Grand Rapids, Michigan and they were big Verve Pipe fans in college before "The Freshman" really took off. So, they've always been big supporters of VP music.
A few years ago, Brian Vanderark starting doing these backyard concerts in order to finance his solo album(s). Since he lives pretty close to my friends, Jim and Marianne, they decided to host one of these shows. Basically, he shows up, mingles with whoever you invite, talks about his music and then plays about a 12-15 song set picked out by the host (usually Verve Pipe and BVA solo songs, but he's been known to do covers by request...he covered "Imagine" for Marianne).
Since their first backyard concert, Jim and Marianne have gone on to become good friends with Brian and his wife Jenna Land, who performs under the name Lux Land.
Recently, The Verve Pipe recorded "The Family Album"...which is essentially an album of "family friendly songs".
Jim and Marianne took their daughter (she is 3 months old) to one of their acoustic shows a couple of months ago. While they were there, they got my son, Xavier, a really thoughtful gift for Christmas.
They sent us "The Family Album" in the mail and all of the band members signed it. On the very front, it says, "To Xavier: Future Rock Star".
I thought that was really cool.
Admittedly, I don't listen to a lot of their music, but thought it was a really great gift and something, hopefully, he'll get a kick out of when he's older.
From what they've told me, BVA, his wife and the rest of the guy are really down to earth.
I'm going back to listen to some of their stuff based on Jim and Marianne's suggestions.
Anyway, thought I would post the story about PissBottleBoy's cool Christmas present from The Verve Pipe!
Cheers,
PBM
