with open eyes

I've lived too long
in this ocean of still thoughts
my head's grown tired
and I don't see no shores
but what I see on the horizon
look's like God

For now I just want back
the times we had
when I lay in black
with open eyes
in daylight nights
painting you and I

Sat on the bench
amid teardrops on the grass
by the hidden river
beneath that tree
reaching to embrace
the nearby river
I found us
in a hereafter
and saw a tear in your eye
for the dying nature

still can't believe I came to
with you by my side
in an age snow white
and you had black eyes

We lived for eternity
but I saw with clarity
your tears that night
with my open eyes
in a dying room
with a ray of light
so divine
it burnt us alive

your tears dried
we were ashes
left intertwined

[lest we forget, you and I]

Very moving piece. I specially like these lines.

    with my open eyes
    in a dying room
    with a ray of light
    so divine
    it burnt us alive
I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream...
If I knew where it was I would take you there.

  • thanks Buru... I'm glad it moves you... across oceans in Argentina:)
