I don't know if anyone was driving in Philly during the time of pj concerts. Maybe it was just me but I swear to god I must have hit every fuckin light in Philly. I know its a city and very busy but in NYC atleast I can make it ten blocks b4 i hit a light. In philly it seems every light was red, block after block. They weren't corrinated, well to me anyway. Don't get me wrong beautiful city very historical.....in fact going back in the summer, but damn Paris in know for the city of lights......sorry but Philly takes it.

Depends on what street you went down? I know Broad can be a killer that way. Walnut and Chestnut are boss though - ya keep at a steady 35/40 mph and you'll never hit a light.

    A) I'm sure it was rush hour or the weekend. And B) It's a long street and I'm sure you were in Center City - from 67th to about 22nd it drives fine.

  • I missed my flight out on the Sunday after the shows. Freeway was closed due to President Obama motorcade thing and we were routed to Broad. Hit every single light and then SAT at lights while police directed traffic for the games.

It was RIDICULOUS. It took almost an hour and 20 minutes to get me to the airport from 17th street and walnut area.

And you're sure it wasn't something else - maybe excitement/anxiety for an upcoming concert - that just made it seem like you hit every light?
  • Yea i was excited but this was everyday
chestnut, walnut, side road every road. Lights everywhere.....anyway great time

    lol....

i saw his plane taxi and then his entourage leave the airport. i wish i would have counted the cars, but it had to be close to 20.

i had the same issue a couple of years ago when bush was in chicago. 90/94 south was a cluster so we jumped off and took local streets for a while before jumping back on.

Traffic was a total nightmare.. And due to airforce one bumping people off their flights I end up having to sit next to a couple that smelled like they just came from a sausage eating contest..I'm sure they were really nice folk tho...

I'll have to go back to Paris to make a more accurate comparison on the lights.

You do understand our city gained a lot of people due to many of you cats coming here for pearl jam, the World Series, the President, Eagle/Giants, Sixers(who cares), Flyers, and A LOT of people come into the city for Halloween. Luckily I have a school parking lot across from my house, or I don't know where I would have parked.
  • Market and Broad Suck. Broad is the worst though...they ony sync 2-3 lights at a time, but from Washington Southbound, it is stop/go at each light.
