Letter to EV about our feelings about the awards show tonight
All I could say after TheBestSong went to the other artist (see, there is Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam and then anyone else is the others to me), was in medium tone of voice......"you bastards! you bastards! You friggin bastards!"my kids thought I was hilarious --they know how much I love any of their work. But more importantly I saw it as the movies that won against the Into The Wild catagories did in no way even compare to this deep story and so you could look at it as a bit too much for these critics. Now the people's choice awards are different right? can we still get a chance to vote for Into The Wild in full form hoping that when we the fans speak, we will be heard better.
I know I am not everyone's mom here but I need to ask a question to you; doesn't it appear that after EV came out to an event that he use to shy away from he should have won---I mean not only for that--attending I mean although now you gotta wonder when he will come out again. His music was awesome and I just hope he continues to see that this is all bs done by critics and in no way can speak for the masses of people who are his fans.
and then when Emile Hershe got passed over for an award for the leading part, I felt so bad for him--he looked like he was going to cry.
as well as the older guy. that was so good in the film--he too got passed over. I swear it's a conspiracy against the director although I know not why. Poor Sean Penn loses his wife this week, then goes on to be humiliated for what else can be called a magnificant movie. I feel like writing a letter to him. How would I get a letter to the right person?
Is anyone else up for a letter written on this thread to him and how much we liked the work? Of course this letter would only be written by the people who like the movie, characters, music etc. anyone up for it?

EXACTLY!!
OK thanks for the clarity on this. I just got into this mindset because I know how modest he is and also how guarded he is in order to protect his creative side along with his personal life and for him to show up, was a big step I thought for him to attend.
I just thought from my point of view, that a lot of the other films got picked for various things that hadn't even had the impact this movie had that was due to all involved on all levels.
Oh well it was only an award show.........but I would've been so pleased to see him win. What were our votes for btw? Did they do a part I missed with those counted?
I hope he's having fun at the aftershow, anyway. I still think he did an awesome job. The whole bunch of the charcters involved did.
It was the critics who voted right? well I can't say I hve ever agreed much with their opinions so that makes mne feel a bit better.

exactly... the amount of people on here who have only read that book or watched the movie because of the Ed connection is staggering... like people only watching Man Of The Hour because of the song being played right at the end.. i find it a bit weird to be honest... but if it means people see the movie who might not normally watch it then thats a good thing.
i just wish people could be more forceful within themselves in terms of finding cool and interesting movies to watch or books to read.
Is the critic's choice the same thing? Sorry am a bit confused!

critics choice awards = not a big deal. i'm just glad we got into the wild into local theaters here. i'm pretty sure 90% of those other movies didn't make it into theaters here, which makes watching those shows pointless if you have no idea what the hell the movies are about. anyway, can't wait for hirsch to star in the new speed racer movie!
he knows he writes great music.
I know!
I feel the same way about the amount of people who like certain bands because of Ed connections.... (Kings of Leon, Ben Harper, Sleater Kinney, etc.)
And other things too...
bullshit at what?
