My deepest condolences go out to you and your partner :( I cannot imagine your feelings, but I hope you can find solace and hope not too far in the future. Much love.

I'm thinking i'm actually leaning towards Come Back.... i think that's the one.
    Thanks guys.

    I am so sorry.

I am actually thinking Just Breathe would also be a good choice.
Some of the lyrics would apply to your son, some could be a way for the two parents to talk to each other and express support at this most difficult moment.

This one is perfect. My family has been listening to this one to get us through some hard times since my father passed at the end of Sept.

My condolences. Can't imagine the impact of that lost...

Not trying to change the subject to myself, but I hope this helps you: I lost my sister over two years ago but it's still like it was so recent. We became very close in the two years before her death. Closer than we'd ever been before. Long Road and Come Back are very sentimental to me for the reason being that they bring me back to my sister...I feel like their a way for me to communicate to my sister as they are the two messages that I would deliver to her given the chance. Come Back in Chicago 1 moved me to tears.

  • A few weeks have passed since your terrible loss, I would like to send condolences all the way from Adelaide. The Pearl Jam family is with you. Come Back was a great choice. There are so many PJ songs you can listen to know which will mean so much to you. Good luck.

    If I keep holding out
    Will the light shine through?
    Under this broken roof
It's only rain that I feel
I've been wishin' out the days
    Oh oh oh
    Come back

    I have been planning out
All that I'd say to you
    Since you slipped away
Know that I still remain true
I've been wishin' out the days
Please say that if you hadn't have gone now
I wouldn't have lost you another way
    From wherever you are
    Oh oh oh oh
    Come back

And these days, they linger on, yeah, yeah
And in the night, I've been waiting for
The real possibility that I may meet you in my dreams
    I go to sleep

    If I don't fall apart
    Will my memory stay clear?
    So you had to go
And I had to remain here
    But the strangest thing today
So far away and yet you feel so close
I'm not going to question it any other way
There must be an open door for you
    To come back

And the days they linger on, yeah
And every night what I'm waiting for
Is the real possibility that I may meet you in my dreams
Sometimes you're there and you're talking back to me
Come the morning I could swear that you're next to me
    And it's ok

    It's ok, it's ok

    I'll be here
    Come back, come back
    I'll be here
    Come back, come back
    I'll be here
    Come back, come back
    Oooooooo
    Oooooooo
    Oooooooo

Wow. So many amazing people, thanks guys.

Just back from Seeing PJ in Adelaide, Melbourne & Sydney. I've mentioned this in other threads, but In Sydney Ed dedicated Light Years to my boy Sebastian. What a band. Lost for words still!

    Hey

Sorry this is a quick selfish post. My son Sebastian was born at 20 weeks gestation on the weekend and died just before his delivery. I'd like a Pearl Jam song at his funeral but just can't remember / have the capacity to think what song has the most suitable lyrics & feel. It's a tough one, he was a boy who hasn't lived a day of his life.

My initial thought was Light Years. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

    Thanks so much.

    Jason

I think Lightyears is perfect. I'm very sorry to hear about this.
