Who do I call to stop phonebooks being delivered to me?

I get so depressed when I see a phonebook at my door. I have the net, why do I need a phonebook? I get about four a year. Why are they even still around? It’s like one big tree killing advertisement. It’s nothing but ads.

Do I call the phone company or the makers of the phonebook?

    Great question. I also would be happy to never receive another phone book.

    The phone book companies contract out delivery to another company. They just go everywhere. I don't know if they even keep track of what address is what. You may just want to remember this year's delivery time, and next year for a month have a huge note at your door saying "do not leave phone book", though the company may not pay attention, since they are probably under a contract to hit every single home and business in an area.

    I just tripped over one sitting by my door the other day. I was going out to my car when I damn near killed myself!

    Anyways, they need to stop! Who the hell uses a phone book? I think the last time I used one was when I was drunk, in college, trying to order a pizza! :lol:

    Internet everywhere, cellphone everywhere...what's the point?

    About a year ago I was paying $1000 a month to have my ad in there. I ended it, and my business is doing just as well. :)

    If anything, phonebooks are a liability.
    You trip over them and bust your ass.
    They enable little old ladies to get behind the wheel. (phonebooks lets them see over the steering wheel)

    if you call and get on the do not deliver list, and they still put one at your door...the person who delivered it will get fined.

    yeah they are utterly pointless.

    i had TWO delivered to me the other week. they were the EXACT same phone book delivered on the EXACT same day. i guess they figured that since two people live here we should have one per person.....incidentally they stayed on my front porch for about a week before i bothered to even look at them.


    the only thing they are good for anymore, i guess, is for menus of pizza places. sometimes those places do not have menus online. but they are few and far between.

    i was thinking of making a similar thread!
