    In the mainstream media, I bet they are. I mean they are playing Guns and Roses on classic rock now and they were only a few years behind Pearl jam.

    With how fast popular music has changed, I dont think its a stretch to call TEN or GnR classic rock. I dont think latter PJ will ever make classic rock radio though.

    Well in 1991 I'm they were playing In the Evening by Zeppelin on the radio, which was 12 years old at the time.

    by that standard they should be playing DTE by next year

    Well, Pearl Jam are coming up on their 20th anniversary so I guess their early music can be considered "classic" rock. Makes me feel very old though. :roll:

    I'll never forget the time I was in the car listening to a classic rock station and my first every favorite band, GN'R, was being played. That was in 2000 and I was only 21. I couldn't believe it. It was Sweet Child O' Mine, which means it was about 13 yrs old.

    Q107 in Toronto does not consider them to be classic rock.

    I think there may be a distinction between Rock music that is now legendary or classic, and the actual genre called classic rock.
