ISO: Best Version Better Man (Save It For Later)

hey everyone,

what show has the best version of better man tagged with save it for later where he sings more of the song then "dont run away", preferably it would have the crowd singing the first verse too. I'm making a Pearl Jam mixtape for a friend and think this would be awesome.

    I've seen Better Man live TONS of times, but 10/31/09 (last Spectrum show) probably had the best one, in my opinion. I'm listening to the audience bootleg now. I remember thinking after that performance that it was probably the best Better Man I had ever heard. I felt like a dork saying it was a standout song of the night!

    I'd go with MSG 98, if I recall rightly....as I hardly consider the ones where all he says is "don't run away, don't let me down" to be a real tag... Some of the older versions have more of the lyrics from the original song, but lately all Ed gives is the short short version.

    I was there, and I get the chills when I listen to it now, but on bootleg there are other versions I would choose if you were making a mix for someone.

    Yeah i've heard every show from 2000 and never have heard or experienced anything from when i was at Boston 1 2008. Still gotta check out pre 2000!

    That one's alright, but it's more an improv than Save it for Later. There are none of the verses.

    Penn State 03 is a great one, because it's got the SifL verses and an improv to boot.

    I'm fairly sure that the OP said he wanted a version that had the verse of SifL and not just the "run away" part. None of the 2008 versions had a full tag

    If you're looking for the best Better Man of all time...it has to be from Seattle 2 in 2000 (the last show of the tour) It has a GREAT improv.

    YES, that was amazing! Philly has had a couple of really awesome SIFL... but this one was crazy!!!!!!

    It is not on youtube but I have found the GREATEST by far Better Man and Tag from the 9/12/05 show in London. Turn up the outro and you will never want to hear another Better Man again. Special thanks to Brisk.

    Speaking of Betterman I kinda liked it when Eddie did that little 'Intro' thing leading into it...like in 2000 :)

    What's the tag on Better Man for the last show of the 2000 tour in Seattle ("I don't want to believe it, I won't believe it" / "it takes all my strength, and I know I gotta go").

    That along with Bonaroo 2008 and Jones Beach #3 2000 are the best versions I've heard.
