yeah thats too bad about Jeter

Derek Jeter will not play in anymore big league Spring Training games in case he needs to start the season on the disabled list.

Smart move best case scenario is he only misses a few games.

I hate cliches but it is what it is. What you have seen the Yankees miss the playoffs once in your time as a Yankees fan?

I think they will be fine if they can tread water for a month or two. I need to see Toronto win before I believe they can, Boston sucks, Baltimore needs to prove they weren't a fluke and Tampa is good but their offense as always is suspect. Tread water, get people healty and see what happens. I think tex may miss more time than we are expecting.

Would be sweet if the yanks could pull a headley trade. Not gonna happen but I can dream

I hope we get the old, dominant Wang back from 2006 and 2007. He was a beast until that game in Houston in 2008.

Yep, only once in 2008 since I started watching in '96. It felt weird. My dad said I'm lucky I wasn't around back when he was growing up and for the '80s teams.

    what a game

Youkilis homers twice and drives in 4, Yankees defeat Rays 7-6 on Mustelier’s walk-off blast.

Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 17m Sources say the Yankees' share of the Vernon Wells contract will be about $13 million over the last two years of his deal.

No idea what Cashman is doing here, this is a terrible move.

This is the perfect year to give young guys a chance.

Instead they overpay for old retreads

I've been saying to go with the young guys. Will be an interesting year.

Watching MLB network this mornign and i didn't realise that their is an insurance policy for players in the WBC and the yankees may get about 6 mil this year from Tex being hurt. Meaning what they pay vernon wells this year will be minimal if you count in that 6 mil.

I still don't like the signing. I still think they should have gone with who they had, but i'm pretty sure that played into their decision process.

    UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I cannot begin to tell you how repulsed I am. God guy yada yada yada, Vernon Wells is one of the worst players in baseball and I hate him

The New York Yankees have Kevin Youkilis and Vernon Wells. Gross.

    We root for laundry.

Good thing the Yankees didn't get Cliff Lee because of David Adams

    Incredible.
